I saw the trailer today at the cinema, and it just feels like this is going to be the hit of the summer. I also saw a bus billboard and it was lovely. Very simple but awesome imagery with a critic's quote at the top "one of the best superhero films of all-time". Ezra won't be an issue internationally, and maybe a smidgen in the U.S. He basically won't matter. |

Tracking says $75m ow. Thinking it'll get closer to $100m when all is said and done, but $135m seems like a stretch and would require a massive breakout. |

Transformers, Flash and Elemental are walking into Spider verse webs... Studios need to leave a message and moviegoers will call them back... A likely story, but Leave a message and moviegoers will eventually call you back... and watch on a streamer. |

I would be very disappointed with just $75 million. I think the bare minimum should be $100 million. I more had in mind that it would open in the $120-$150m range. I suppose one could always use the argument that it's "only a Flash movie", and it's his first solo movie, and the DCEU is one big fail. I get all those points, and they're right from a logic standpoint, but this film feels different. Movies often aren't logical. The marketing is excellent and there is an excitement to it which is hard to measure much like when Batman v Superman came out, which is why I expect a larger opening but with mediocre/bad legs, just like Batman v Superman. |

Think it'll be well received with audiences but opening above $100m probably needed universal acclaim. |

I thought it was very good. Andy did a great job with the pacing and acting was great. Only issues were with CGI which has plagued most SH movies and this definitely amps up there. I think Ezra factor is holding it down. Otherwise this should have opened HUGE. |

Flash dropping below Transformers OW would be an even bigger shocker than Transformers overperforming. At this rate, just watch IJ5 overperform given there may be no other movies above $20M by the time IJ opens. |

Huge combination of factors. Spiderverse and transformers (to lesser extent) hurting this. DCEU stench hurting this. Ezra Miller stench hurting this. Everyone knowing this film goes nowhere stench. We'll see where legs take it. Plus....The Rock really is a huge draw, huh? Black Adam would have been a Shazam 2 like film with anyone else starring |

I honestly feel The Rock being in Black Adam and Keaton here allowed both movies to get to $45M+. Probably would have gotten a little more than Shazam, possibly $40M if Keaton wasn't here. It felt like the only fresh factor the movie had to offer and was where a lot of the buzz was coming from. Did anyone have Spider-verse will triple The Flash's total on their summer bingo card? It could possibly happen. |

I agree that DC already moving onto the Gunn era made this seem more of a throwaway than it would have been, and Batgirl cancellation wasn't worth it, it made the DCEU look bad worse than any poor quality movie would have. Only question is how low can Aquaman 2 go. |

In a strange twist, I think Aquaman has a fighting chance, or at least more than The Flash. It has a good release date and this Christmas season feels lighter than usual. Wonka, Ghostbusters, Migration and The Color Purple. FastX's disappointment is more on the franchise's lack of freshness over Momoa so think he won't be dinged too badly on that front. Heard's presence will be minimal but people will see something and Aquaman should still benefit. A gross close to the original is out of the question, but a $150M+ gross at this point is a win for DC even if its nearly 60%+ lower than its predecessor. |

And when Aquaman fails you'll move it to Superman: Legacy because DC's gotta have a hit at some point, right? I feel these old DCEU lineage movies are just done. The Flash could miss the top 20 for the year. Have we ever had a movie we thought had a chance possibly to win the year flop in such epic fashion? Meanwhile, I would love for another DC superhero movie, Joker to win 2024 mostly for the mixed signals.
