I know, I know. He's about as trustworthy as Fletcher Reede, but I really think he learns from his mistakes (most of the time) and making TE3 a PG-13 was a mistake that he can clearly see. He knows how to make hard-Rs, so I would rather believe him and hope it happens. |

Stallone is the type of person that only really admits his mistakes after they take place and doesn't have much foresight before the fact. The critical mistakes in The Expendables 2, while not all his fault, were forgotten by the fact that it made huge grosses everywhere...how was he (or anyone else, for that matter) to know they were mistakes? |

Yeah, well, he learned not to make part 3 a film full of inside jokes to past creations. He learned to hire a better director and focus more on story. |

Well, we all know that there are reasons for the lower-gross, but sure there were tons of other mistakes that were not corrected in the third part. |

Ok, so the latest news from Stallone (apparently): - Expendables 4 will be grittier, and rated-R. - Expendables 4 would be set in the Philippines with Manny Pacquiao as a villain. Manny Pacquiao would play the role of a "vicious rebel general". Seems like, at least so far, they didn't learn from the mistakes of the past two films. |

I think these are just rumours with no truth behind them at all. Well, or they are Stallone's thoughts that he throws out to journalists before every Expendables film. So either way, it's not concrete. It's just ideas. In the same reports (which I didn't share) they are saying that The Rock would like to be the villain (this isn't news, as we heard this from him many months ago), but if he is included, you can wave bye-bye to the "DTV" comment.
