If they also donate a t-shirt and a cup of tea for the event in Japan, it could bring a lot of people back.

Demon Slayer S1: And I completed it. I liked it. Am not into anime humor and action for most part but plot and characters are good enough to keep me engaged. All set and excited for Mugen Train. 8/10.

I would have preferred this arc to be covered in show and Natagumo Mountain Arc to be made into 2 hour movie.

Why would "recap" movie cover a further arc? Also is the recap movie out now?

I have seen series so recap movie will not be really for me. What I meant is that Natagumo Mt. arc was much more movie suited than this one.

Hmmm I don't really think so. There wasn't any movie feeling in natagumo arc since it's just a bunch of trees.
Also, the ending of the arc with Giyuu one-shotting Rui would be so anti-climactic for a movie.

Yeah.... I really love how the movie ended with the sad note with the mugen train arc.

Only the top 3 films had their weekend grosses released this week due Golden Week going well into the week, so later this evening I'll put together the Weekend Actuals update using those and estimate the remaining 6 films.

New Dragon Ball Super movie next year. I hope it'll feature Broly as he's the reason I watch it (he's kinda cute).

Well, I was going to do the Weekend Actuals-But-Almost-All-Estimates, but the totals released are as of Wednesday, and only two films (Detective Conan and Rurouni Kenshin) had their weekend grosses released. So putting together a Weekend Actuals from last weekend isn't exactly doable since 8/10 weekend grosses need to be estimated, and 10/10 totals as of Sunday would need to be estimated.

The Golden Week holidays pushing the results back to Thursday really messed up the reporting this year. It's very rare for holidays to occur on all three of the first days of the week (Mon-Wed), so don't think this is common. So... I'm just going to post all the available numbers in this post, and update the 2021 Charts afterwards:

Weekend Gross (05/01-02):
¥452,000,000 ($4.2 million) / 356,000 admissions - Detective Conan: The Scarlet Bullet (Toho) WK3
¥317,000,000 ($2.9 million) / 242,000 admissions - Rurouni Kenshin: The Final Chapter - The Final (Warner Bros.) WK2

Updated Totals (As of 05/05):
¥39,886,484,500 ($381.2 million) / 28,879,780 admissions - Demon Slayer: Mugen Train (Toho/Aniplex) WK29
¥8,282,298,700 ($75.9 million) / 5,423,475 admissions - Evangelion 3.0+1.0: Thrice Upon a Time (Toho/Toei/Khara) WK9
¥5,647,727,850 ($52.0 million) / 4,047,032 admissions - Detective Conan: The Scarlet Bullet (Toho) WK3
¥3,756,794,300 ($36.1 million) / 2,801,970 admissions - Loved Like a Flower Bouquet (Tokyo Theaters, Co.) WK14
¥2,047,398,620 ($18.8 million) / 1,472,737 admissions - Rurouni Kenshin: The Final Chapter - The Final (Warner Bros.) WK2
¥1,204,353,200 ($11.2 million) / 810,781 admissions - Monster Hunter (Toho-Towa) WK6
¥1,153,103,800 ($10.6 million) / 890,068 admissions - Caution, Hazardous Wife: The Movie (Toho) WK7
¥784,118,000 ($7.2 million) / 642,078 admissions - Tom & Jerry (Warner Bros.) WK7
¥769,454,100 ($7.1 million) / 578,916 admissions - Signal: The Movie (Toho) WK4
¥344,068,880 ($3.2 million) / 259,388 admissions - Nomadland (Disney) WK6
