| Post subject: | Which Future Blockbuster Will Top The DARK KNIGHT In B.O?? |
Now that it appears that The DARK KNIGHT is the king of summer movies based on it's super box office gross(still not beating TITANIC Though) which future summer blockbuster stands a chance at dethroning it, both in quality and box office??? I'd say at this point, it's conceivably possible for IRONMAN 2 to come close, depending on the star power, director and plot, then I'd have to say perhaps SPIDERMAN IV if they go with a really good director that's better than Sam Raimi and a whole new cast and plot that actually progresses the story further than what Sam Raimi gave us.. Or how about The AVENGERS that would combine 4 of MARVEL'S Best characters in CAPTAIN AMERICA, THOR, IRONMAN and the HULK??? |

Right off the bat, i'd have to say none of those will make more than the Dark Knight. But, if i had to put my money on one, it would have to be Captain America. It would have to have some major star power and be a great film to have a shot though. I doubt any of those will top TDK. |

Let's not start this whole deal where everyone has let TDK go to their heads to the point where everyone thinks no movie stands a chance at beating it.. That's pure nonsense.. Guess if RDJ or Norton overdose during the production of 1 of these movies, it stands a chance huh???

Iron Man 2 will come the closest but I don't think it will make any more than $350-400 million domestic. |

I can see Iron Man 2 being a Dead Man's Chest in terms of box office, but other than that you can't predict another Dark Knight, those things just are ment to surprise. I can't believe this will actually have higher than average summer blockbuster legs despite its tremendous hype and opening. |

The Batman franchise had to be rebooted after 8 years of dormancy. And it took an incredibly well received Batman Begins to restore Batman to its former glory. SM won't get back to SM and SM2 levels until the franchise is completely rebooted 10-15 years from now. |

There are only three films in my opinion that can top $400M coming up. Iron Man 2, Transformers 2, and Deathly Hallows Part 2. |

Avengers maybe 400 million but I dont think any of those will make more than 350 million |

Iron Man 2 will end up cracking 350 and possibly 400 million if the quality is there, but it won't touch 500 million. |

WOM for Iron Man is fantastic and if history is any indication Iron Man 2 will end up being a higher quality film than the original. We should see a huge increase for IM2 opening weekend. |

All Marvel films, could you be any clearer. Spiderman will continue its downfall spiral Captain America probably wont be huge Iron Man 2 maybe if RDJ dies It'll be a film 10 or so years from now that you won't see coming, other than the probability that it has a chance to be big. |
