 Which Future Blockbuster Will Top The DARK KNIGHT In B.O?? Now that it appears that The DARK KNIGHT is the king of summer movies based on it's super box office gross(still not beating TITANIC Though) which future summer blockbuster stands a chance at dethroning it, both in quality and box office??? I'd say at this point, it's conceivably possible for IRONMAN 2 to come close, depending on the star power, director and plot, then I'd have to say perhaps SPIDERMAN IV if they go with a really good director that's better than Sam Raimi and a whole new cast and plot that actually progresses the story further than what Sam Raimi gave us.. Or how about The AVENGERS that would combine 4 of MARVEL'S Best characters in CAPTAIN AMERICA, THOR, IRONMAN and the HULK???

But, if i had to put my money on one, it would have to be Captain America. It would have to have some major star power and be a great film to have a shot though. I doubt any of those will top TDK.

I can see Iron Man 2 being a Dead Man's Chest in terms of box office, but other than that you can't predict another Dark Knight, those things just are ment to surprise. I can't believe this will actually have higher than average summer blockbuster legs despite its tremendous hype and opening.

SPIDERMAN is still a very popular character with the movie going audience and does have mass appeal, despite Sam Raimi making SM3 lackluster compared to SM2 which is till one of the best.. Watch this happen with the 3rd BATMAN.. Nolan will have a hard time trying to top that and will fall into the same fate Raimi did in trying to outdo SM2.. Anything is possible.. The Batman franchise had to be rebooted after 8 years of dormancy. And it took an incredibly well received Batman Begins to restore Batman to its former glory. SM won't get back to SM and SM2 levels until the franchise is completely rebooted 10-15 years from now.

WOM for Iron Man is fantastic and if history is any indication Iron Man 2 will end up being a higher quality film than the original. We should see a huge increase for IM2 opening weekend.
