TDK will still beat Batman 1 adjusted by at least $70 million at this point anyway, which is pretty amazing when you consider Batman 1 was MASSIVE in '89, so it's moot.

Iron Man 2 could easily do something like 150/425, though.

This is true. The original Batman was absolutely massive back in the day, and in many ways ushered in the modern blockbuster era. For TDK to even come close to its adjusted gross, much less blow past it, is phenomenal when you consider how relatively subdued BB's performance was.

BKB is sure that TDK returns have no chance but lists SM4 in the poll :funny:

I think TDK returns will beat all these movie comfortably.

Well the answer is none of the above.

However, the films that will get closest to TDK will be:

1. The Hobbit
2. The Dark Knight sequel
3. Iron Man 2
4. Transfomers 2
5. The Hobbit/LOTR 2nd film
-----------------------------------------
6. The Avengers
7. Harry Potter 7/8
8. Avatar
9. Random surprise

The top 5 are the only ones that are just about locks to do $375m+. Only the first two are $400m locks IMO.

Harry Potter 7 has been split into two films - the max that franchise will make is $375m for one of the films.

I say #9 Random surprise has the biggest shot

This is interesting. Shows how little faith we had in Marvel at the time. Somehow, I voted for Avengers but didn't reflect that in my comments.
