Anything is better than Greenland at this point lol. How the hell did Greenland manage to get 14 theaters? Raya for sure suffered in theaters because of D+ as it has been out for almost 3 months now and will be available for free in a week.

Indeed that's just crazy even if the audience is starved for movies.

The Bavarian movie is still on top...

A heatwave and the Euro Cup depress things further...

One of the major chains opened, that's why most movies were up, but summer heat melted away the averages...

8 more days until the grand re-opening (July 1st)

WW84 got theatrical release but did it make any sense to release it now? Also how is Cruella doing so well there?

WW84 was streamed many months ago and it's just a service for non-subscribers so they have a chance to catch it on the big screen. Same with CRUELLA...

And all those numbers are from "doing so well"... ;)

So Thursday is Independence Day for German movie theaters. Most theaters will re-open and the distributors are sending 11 (yes, eleven!!!) wide releases into the box office race (plus another dozen or so limited releases)...

For the first time in 8 months I can present a complete Top Ten...

Next week we should be back to the regular Top Twenty...

So Thursday numbers are in and it looks like PETER RABBIT 2 will win the weekend with 150,000 admissions, followed by GODZILLA VS. KONG (110,000), local film CATWEAZLE (100,000) and CONJURING 3 (90,000).

It is a tough weekend to predict, let's wait and see how the numbers will truly unfold...

@Mark how are Black Widow pre-sales or they didn't started

Author:  mark66 [ Fri Jul 02, 2021 12:25 pm ]
Post subject:  Re: Germany Box-Office Thread

There are pre-sales which is a good sign as Germans are not into pre-sales and theaters have just re-opened. But we're not talking blockbuster pre-sales here...

Post subject:  Re: Germany Box-Office Thread

How much are you expecting from BW though. Also why Cruella not going wide this weekend.

Author:  mark66 [ Sat Jul 03, 2021 10:29 am ]
Post subject:  Re: Germany Box-Office Thread

I'm on the sceptical side and expect just 700,000 admissions total...

CRUELLA went wide(r) (133 theaters), but many theaters boycott the movie because of D+ (same with BW)
