http://www.insidekino.com/DTop10/20/DTop20AUG6.htmDismal numbers all around, Covid restrictions AND a heatwave is killing the box office...

Weekend 33/20
http://www.insidekino.de/DTop10/20/DTop20AUG13.htmWeather included some rainy days and b.o. doubled... BTW, around 60 % of theaters have opened, 100 % are expected when TENET opens (exceptions are the theaters which went bankrupt during lockdown)...

Re: Germany Box-Office Thread
Pre-sales are looking good (in today's environment)...
I'm hoping for a 5 day opening of 250,000 admissions or more which could lead to a 1m total...

If this does reasonably well Disney would regret its decision to go direct to D+. Could have tried Tenet approach for few weeks before going to D+ for Mulan. I wonder if movies like Wonder Woman 2 or Black Widow will open this year or will they wait until there is a vaccination.

Re: Germany Box-Office Thread (TENET x 17)
Great to hear that. If they release a movie that people want to see it will make money.

Re: Germany Box-Office Thread (TENET x 17)
Looks like TENET might keep its box office No. 1 this weekend (dropping around 30 %) while AFTER WE COLLIDED might be No. 1 in admissions...
BTW: In Italy AWC had 55 % more admissions in its first two days than TENET last week...

Re: Germany Box-Office Thread (TENET x 17)
AFTER was the 27th biggest grosser of 2019 in Italy and had the 24th most admissions of 2019 in Germany...
I just got the news that AFTER WE COLLIDED defeated TENET yesterday in Spain as well...

Weekend 36/20
http://www.insidekino.com/DTop10/20/DTop20SEP3.htmSo AFTER WE COLLIDED did indeed claim the No. 1 spot in admissions while TENET dropped a reasonable 26 % and stayed No. 1 in b.o.

Re: Germany Box-Office Thread
Very close race for #1.
What's up with After Passion's 74 weeks in release and ranking 9th over the weekend?

Weekend 37/20
http://www.insidekino.com/DTop10/20/DTop20SEP10.htmAFTER WE COLLIDED edges out TENET for the No. 1 spot (in admissions) again while TENET remains No. 1 in b.o. Official numbers for the first 6 months are out: BOX OFFICE dropped by 52.3 %, ADMISSIONS dropped by 51.7 % - BUT regular movie theaters dropped even worse: 54.3 % - that 2.6 % difference is due to the fact that drive-ins exploded from 28 screens last year to 472 screens this year...

Weekend 39/20
http://www.insidekino.com/DTop10/20/DTop20SEP24.htmNice holds as most of Germany had a rainy weekend... TENET back on top, but October will be dominated by local productions...

Are these new movies delayed productions from Feb/March or previously October month planned movies?

Some of them are delayed, but many were planned as fall releases...

Weekend 41/20
http://www.insidekino.com/DTop10/20/DTop20OKT8.htmThree local movies in the Top 4... and the number of local movies will grow in the coming weeks/months as Holllywood basically abandoned movie theaters...

Weekend 42/20
http://www.insidekino.com/DTop10/20/DTop20OKT15.htmWeekend should have been better with 59 % of the states on fall vacation, but rising Corona cases are having an impact...

Re: Germany Box-Office Thread
Just wanted to thank you, mark, for the constant work on your website. Not only is it nice to see all the data from so many countries, but it's a major time-saver for me when I have to go back and check numbers (like holdover drops each weekend) when I'm posting charts or other information in my thread here.
With BOM's huge decline, I'd say InsideKino is the best website out there for international numbers. And I'd go as far as saying it's better than BOM ever was once you began uploading the actual weekends for so many countries in 2016. No need to navigate multiple pages to see individual weekends, yearly charts, all-time chart, or anything else; it's all on a clean and single page.
