The Friday Estimate of The Incredibles was lowered to $13.9 million, therefore a lower weekend gross than expected.

All are in now, with the exception of The Polar Express. I hope its estimate will be over $23 million.

I am really glad Shall We Dance has done so well. It is a surprisingly good movie, with nothing bad about. You can enjoy it, without the fear of any unnecessary sex scene, or violence. Language varies. But, it feels like an old-fashioned good time of a movie. I really, really liked it.

Sideways continues to do well with expansion. Its PTA only dropped 38.7% even though its theater count more than doubled.
The Motorcycle Diaries is hanging in there as well, with PTA still over $3000. Focus Feature should really have continued to expand it.
I thought Finding Neverland and Kinsey would have better PTAs given they're only in 8 and 5 theaters each. With their buzz, they should've been in th $40000-60000 range.

The Incredibles is, well, incredible. That number gives The Incredibles the 7th highest second weekend ever. Awesome.
The Polar Express had a very nice weekend multiplier, and should have great legs with the holiday season to push it close to or over $100 million. Eventually, it will turn into some kind of profit. And, $30 million for 5-days isn't that bad considering it's "incredible" competition.
I'm a little surprised with how Seed of Chucky got almost a 3.0x multiplier this weekend. Though the number is not that great, it wasn't playing in many theaters either, and managed a decent PTA. Same goes for After The Sunset, which didn't do that bad either.
Bridget Jones did very well for itself, with such a great PTA for the weekend. It should do over $20 million next weekend.

Absolutely agreed with all of your comments.
I am very disappointed with the way Focus has handled Shaun of the Dead and The Motorcycle Diaries. Considering the good buzz and the glowing reviews for both, with a decent expansion both could have done at least $10 million more than they are going to end up with.
Sideways is doing very well and next weekend's expansion to around 400 theatres shhould give it its first $2+ million weekend. I hope it will be eventually expanded to 1000+ theatres.
I am myself very disappointed with the PTA's of Kinsey and especially Finding Neverland. After I heart Huckabee's' and The Motorcycle Diaries' $50,000+ PTA's, I'd expect at least something over $45,000 as the PTA for these three movies.

The Incredibles - spectacular. Interesting tidbit: according to these estimates, The Incredibles is a mere $9,211 dollars ahead of Finding Nemo at the end of its second weekend. Pretty close eh!
Polar Express isn't as disastrous as it could've been, I think it'll cross $100M.

Me too, BOYFRESH. I thought $300 million was out for Incredibles. It seems to be VERY in, now. And yes, Spongebob is toast, because it's just like every other Nickelodeon show. It has a fanbase, but not enough for a mass appeal at the box office.

I am stunned by the Incredible numbers we have this weekend!
Amazing number for The Incredibles. Yuppers, looks like 300m will happen and Spongebob wont do THAT well. Methinks 30m or so. I guess we wont have a 100m dollar film, heh.
I like the Polar Express number. Could have been higher. But I suspect great legs will come into play.
Shocking numbers include Bridget Jones and Finding Neverland. I thought Jones would be lower and Neverland a wee bit higher. None the less, stellar weekend for pretty much everyone except Jude Law ![:P :P](./images/smilies/icon_tongue.gif) . Nice.

To be honest, I wasn't expecting a stellar number for Finding Neverland. The release schedule has been juggled seveal times (limited, then wide, now limited-to-wide), so there may have been some confusion. I also don't expect the film to make a massive amount of money, simply due to it being a biopic. I predict a run similar to that of Garden State with a final total of $15-$20 million.

One of the things that really upsets me in the articles I'm reading online are Box Office reports that are calling BRIDGET JONES a failure (i.e. VARIETY, YAHOO!). None of them are taking into account that it's on less than 600 screens and has the highest per-screen average in the Top 20...even more than THE INCREDIBLES!
I know all of us understand that this weekend was a huge success for it, but it amazes me that reporters who are reporting the figures, don't even have enough sense to know about PSAs. It's spreading misinformation and could hurt it's chances next week if the media disseminates that it's somehow already flopped. :x
