$525,000 for Warm Bodies: https://twitter.com/Boxoffice/status/297379635338043393

That's a bit more than Hansel & Gretel.

Well, let's hope for a 10 or midnight to Friday multiplier better than Hansel & Gretel. I don't think Warm Bodies can hit 20M for the weekend without at least 8M Friday.

Can't see it having much more than 6.5 Friday with that, considering the Superbowl will eat it up (No pun intended) should be looking at a 16-17 million opening.

Any opening below $18 million I'd deem disappointing in this marketplace.

I think it will have a much better multiplier than H&G. I think it will get a lot of the young date crowd in the evening, something H&G didn't get as much of.

I still see more than this. Didn't Mama have less for its 10 PM showings? Teens will really come out for it on Friday night, IMO.

When a Stranger calls had almost 19 million made before Sunday, its weekend was 21.6. The real difference is it has to open over 8 million to even have a chance, but I can't see Hansel and Gretal having that much of a bigger impact on midnights then a zombie romance film.

Taken 2.6 (And everyone loved that movie)
Chronicle had a 2.55 multiplier
Woman in Black 2.5
When a Stranger Calls 2.4
Boogeyman 2.38

Women don't care about the Superbowl. Good move by whoever is releasing Warm Bodies.

Iron Man 2 did 7.5? I'm thinking closer to 14-16 for midnights for it.

I think 12+ makes it set for 150 +++ million weekend.

The Avengers did $16 million, right? I'm thinking $14 million for Iron Man 3.

Don't be mean to Lecter. I mean, it's not like the number was posted on THE FIRST PAGE OF THIS THREAD.

^ The Hobbit qualifies though, doesn't it? It wasn't massive, but it did pull in $12.5 million from proper midnight screenings in December.

Midnight screenings do still happen, but they are now following the earlier screenings. In essence, it's like midnight got bumped up to 9 or 10, and the crazy way-early-morning showings (like the 3 AM IMAX shows the Dark Knight sequels got) have been bumped to midnight.

We really should just change this to "early screenings" cause that's what they've become.

A true midnight release doesn't exist anymore. TDKR was the last true big one (BD2 had early screenings...I think).

I agree, or just mark out those that didn't have proper 12AM releases.

I agree as well. There are still midnight shows but nowadays these new openers are starting at 9pm maybe 10pm and in the case of IM3 there are some marathon shows even though they'll be a fraction of the overall Thursday gross.

I haven't been paying much attention to this shift, so is BOM still separating the 8-10p Thursday showings from the Midnights like they'd done in the past with The Matrix Reloaded and Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, among others?

To my knowledge, BOM doesn't list midnights at all.
