Kindof stunning to me how hard they seem to have botched this. First trailer had me hyped, after strongly disliking the first JWorld and completely skipping the second. Hype seems nowhere to be found, and the more I’ve seen of movie footage, the more I smell yet another piece of shit. It shouldn’t be hard to make a good, exciting, scary, compelling movie from the wide word dinosaur premise, but jeezus christo this looks like a bad videogame that I will jusy as readily not spend money on.

Well, they certainly understood the "awareness" assignment. Shopping for groceries, I saw it on Dr. Pepper (like... all of them, there were at least five different kinds), one of the popcorn brands, some sort of snack cakes, every General Mills cereal, numerous different candies. And no doubt much more I didn't spot. Some of these were offering movie tickets.

It has its own menu at Hardees and Carl's Jr.

I even saw a commercial today promoting its like 7 different Barbasol shaving cream cans to collect (creative throwback here!).

I see Jeep commercials pretty often. And it was also on every commercial break during the Winter Olympics as part of that partnership.

Will all this pay off (must be a hell of an expensive marketing campaign)? Doesn't seem like it, but they went all out trying. Can't think of the last film given this much exposure.

Here's the Barbasol commercial. Pretty creative marketing. Hard to believe they didn't do it with any of the previous films.

They lifted the review embargo early and its surprisingly at 83% 6.2 avg rating. could stay fresh.

Those reviews are marketing pitches. I dont think universal will let any US or Top critic review at this point. That is still blocked all the way till the previews open on 6/9.

I bailed out long before the release. 2nd I heard its pile of shit I knew this will underperform. In fact I aced 140m range like 3 weeks ago based on presales :-)

That said this had potential if it was any good. Sadly it was not.

Transformers is a good comparison, the third one still did pretty good business despite the reviews fading in second and third movies. Although Transformers 2 was a great time.
