3D is such an annoying scam. I will refuse to watch the Avatar sequels out of spite for the first one having started this trend.

It's a valid point. Alice cruised to $1B globally as the next big movie to jump on the 3D bandwagon.
It's sequel fell to $300M ww and 77% domestically. Given where inflation is at, people aren't going to just pay that much more for 3D if they have the choice unless they really want to see the movie in it. It's been commoditized.
If Avatar followed Alice, would drop down to $175M domestically which I don't think is impossible. Globally though I expect it to be much more close to the original or do $1.5B+ to make up for any domestic impact.
