KC wrote: Gunn is not doing the film any favors by calling Superman an immigrant. Half the country will want ICE to deport him lol. He has made a mistake by saying the film is political, i bet wb is not happy about that, the main headlines im reading for the last couple of days is the political/immigrant thing. Sometimes Gunn puts his foot in his mouth.

IDK about universal acclaim but the vast vast majority have been *very* positive.

Embargo will be lifted in less than an hour. Im watching the film regardless Gunn has a good track record.

 Re: July 11-13 Predictions
91% on RT, 73 on MetaCritic. If RT sticks think that should be enough to build hype into the week.

Reviews are stronger than what the recent rumors suggested. Let us see how the presales go after this. Prime Shows today are looking at around 3m gross.

 Re: July 11-13 Predictions
Down to 86% but seems like it will hover around there.
So generally on par critically with Gunn's Guardians films.

 Re: July 11-13 Predictions
Damn it did need that 90%+ to counter the presumably low user score. Snydercult and MAGA (who are probably the same people) are gonna review bomb the fuck out of it as soon as they are able to.

 Re: July 11-13 Predictions
Reviews and reactions are tremendous. Great to see. The RT score debuted at 91% and that's what the headlines show.
If this opens to $120m weekend with glowing reviews and WOM, yeah this is an easy hit, if not an uber breakout.

 Re: July 11-13 Predictions
$120-$130M would be a win and in line with The Batman but I'm not sure that's strong enough to launch a whole superhero universe, there's a reason The Batman has had no sequel.

 Re: July 11-13 Predictions
I mean, probably a given since it was an early screening for people who really wanted to see the movie but my audience seemed to like the movie. I think WoM should be fine. Don't think the movie is anything amazing but it's good.
