I wonder how much studio heads hate Rotten Tomatoes. In the old days most people wouldn't have known it sucked until after opening weekend. Now bad reviews can completely kill a film before it even comes out (Joker 2 for example). But it undoubtedly helps other films that would've been overlooked without crazy glowing reviews that everyone is aware of. It's a really good thing for blockbuster cinema if you think about it, it forces everyone involved to think about quality because there's a real risk that if it sucks bad it will tank the film's potential. Unlike in the 90s when even Batman & Robin had a decent OW.

I really like the embargo system compared to if the critics got to see what social media thought first and then tried to say exactly what they thought so people would click on their articles.

Well it’s really just the same thing as it was years ago, a film would tour a few cities in the north east and the rest of the country would read about in the paper. Honestly the trailer does more for casual viewers, and Snow White looks almost Cats bad. Gal Gadot is no Angelina Jolie and the CGI is bad and honestly it doesn’t look like they updated the film at all. Outside of Hi Ho, I don’t think anyone knows a song from Snow White

1st market Korea its opening day finished under Mickey 17 week 3 and looking like finishing below 200k admits ($1.35m). Its CGV score(similar to RT score from ticket buying public) is already at 68 just 1 point above where Joker 2 ended !!! Its bombing overseas for sure. Early presales at many markets look horrendous. This is definitely next Marvels for Disney.
