Always massive drops this weekend. Nothing too alarming.

Early December is fast becoming the go to release time for foreign films.

Not true. Good holds are sub 55%. 60%+ on this weekend is never good

Expected better for Wicked

Frozen dropped worse Friday to Friday with similar calendar days. Only has 2 weekends before it spikes up anyways with holidays so I don't think it's too concerning.

Moana 2 has over performed so far considering medocre movie it is. Wicked's hold is disappointing but it had extraordinary hold last week and so its reverting to norm at this point. Its not making 500m for sure. But still a great run and sequel has potential to up the ante.

Deadline estimates a 50% drop for Wicked this weekend. I'd say that's a damn solid hold coming off a holiday weekend.

Solid numbers except for Moana, can’t see it barely making 45 let alone 55, everything else is solid though

Yeah…. That would be what a 79% Saturday increase. those are some pretty generous multipliers they are giving I’m thinking at best in the 3.5-3.8 area

17m is what I was projecting when I was projecting 11-12 for Wickeds Friday.

According to empire they’re projecting a 36m weekend

79% is fucking huge, especially for a film with mediocre wom. I mean it is a kids movie but 36 sounds much more reasonable , somebody said 55 off a 11.5 friday it can def go higher? But kind of ridiculous for an animated movie to struggle to hit its next weekend to first sunday

Without awards I would say high 400s for both but I think Golden Globes Best Musical/Comedy win and Best Picture nomination for Wicked can keep it going and sneak past 500.

If Wicked follows Frizen 2 from here it gets to about $460m

Empire is saying Wicked had a strong Sunday. $11.8m, so weekend will be $36.3m or so (+$1.45M).

55.3% drop from Thanksgiving weekend vs estimated 57.1%.

Y2K has a C- on cinemascore..., How? Usually nothing but horror ever gets that low.

Also was this weekend dump a movie into theaters week? 12 films opened? Funny that the one with the least amount of theaters Interstellar beat most of them other than Pushpa, which also had a very impressive OW. Maybe these were mostly tax writeoffs?

Massive numbers for the Interstellar re-release. I really think Nolan should do a sequel. I don't know why he makes these high concept sci-fi epics that are perfectly set up for the story to continue and then just does nothing with them.

Too bad he would be ruining the ending if he made Inception 2.

Actual for Wicked was just a 55% drop, which is thoroughly in the ok for post Thanksgiving hold territory
