The only thing that can possibly stop Mariah from being #1 for the next 10 years will be if Taylor Swift does a full Christmas album it's looking like...

You'd think that, but her one Xmas song "Christmas Tree Farm" never charts,

SZA and Kendrick might have beem able to take out Mariah but it released on Sunday instead of Friday.

Halfway through the decade one hit wonders are basically dead except for the Rich Men of Richmond guy who probably would've had country fans rally behind him for a few more if he tried, Glass Animals kind of counts but they are respected indie band and have a few old songs at 200-300 thousand spotify listens. Last decade was on the decline but quietly they at least had a few great ones like Walk the Moon, Passenger, Magic!, Tones and I surprisingly to me never really got there as a Sia-lite body positivity figure, and of course, Gotye.

Hozier not being a one hit wonder was a massive surprise for the year. 10 year gap but seems like a very not 2020s type thing to happen on these charts.

Die With a Smile should hopefully hit #1 next week. Hopefully it doesn't get Levitating'd.

Yeah, does the recurrency rule still apply? Thought some of these would be ineligible for reentry after the holidays.

I looked at the billboard alternative chart and there's a band called Dexter and the Moonrocks with 6 week #1 (Sad in Carolina) that seem to be formed in 2020s and don't even have a wiki page. They don't seem that new/amazing but with how dead rock bands have been at least it's something. edit - I got into another one of their songs "Messed Up Kid" but it turns out it was a song originally written by Tyler Childers.

Surprised that The Weeknd only got one song in top ten considering how strong his album sales were.

I think Kendrick will get tops next week with either Luther or Not Like Us. Then it will be Gaga season for quite awhile with either DWAS or something else off the album.

Pink Pony Club is one of the few songs this decade that feels right as a future radio classic.
