I wonder if in 50 years Kelly Clarkson will just be known as the Underneath the Tree singer.

Of course I know it's Christmas charts but are these going to be the chart rankings for the next 10, 20 years? Eventually see Halloween following this so serialized music rankings are going to get so boring. Would be nice to see Brenda get to #1 eventually too.

Kelly Clarkson and Ariana Grande Christmas songs were in the teens this year so they might at least start making top 10

Once Mariah passes Old Town Road she will never be dethroned. It does make the charts very boring, though I'd laugh for the first year that Ghostbusters, Monster Mash and Backstreet's Back invade the top ten of Halloween charts. :hahaha:

It's almost creating "music franchises" in the same way we've gravitated to movie franchise IP but where the brand is a holiday people go back to again and again and reject original product and go for nostalgia. A new subpar Christmas song by flavor of the month artist becomes a song that is played again and again.

Feb - Valentines Day - Love songs?
Mar- Irish / party songs?
Jun - Graduation songs? Vitamin C comes back each year end of Jun with her song?
Oct - Halloween songs - Expect Thriller to go back to #1 sometime in the next 10 years
Nov - Thanksgiving songs (Dido comes back each year with Thank You?)
Dec - Christmas - Already there.

Miley played the Cry Me a River card to perfection with this one

I'm glad to see Something in the Orange get top 10, one of my favorites from 2022

As It Was and Bad Habits still being in the top ten once again makes me wish that Billboard would retire songs like TRL used to do. Half a year, 26 weeks, and you're out.

Wow Flowers is huge

Post subject:  Re: Billboard chart discussion thread

Flowers has become the fastest song to reach 100M streams in Spotify history!

More crazily, it didn't start big and then drop, apparently it's been going up day after day.

Looks like a longer run at #1 here.

Is Die For You a meme from Ginny and Georgia or something?

Taylor should have waited another week to release the Lavender Haze video. Probably could have made a run at #1, but Flowers is too strong at the moment.
