 Re: Billboard chart discussion thread
I see Billie and Taylor keep releasing new versions of their album since apparantly their #s are close... all in all I know its business but it just looks dumb, especially on Taylor's end lol.

So dumb, much moreso on Taylor’s part (her album had already been out and in the #1 position for what, 4-5 weeks?). I was all about team Taylor until this album cycle. First off, TTPD is pretty much unlistenable for me. It’s painfully self-indulgent, way too many songs and most of them sound the same. It all sounds boringly familiar; not an envelope in sight she might try pushing, no experimentation in sound or anything. Sorry girl, I know you’re on top of the world and can do whatever you want, but your artistry is suffering. I imagine due in part to everyone being a “yes-person” for her megastar ego, including Jack and whoever else might be able to reign in her narcissistic extravagance. On top of that, Billie’s album crushes TTPD creatively, is near perfect, a sweet 10 songs (seriously Taylor, 32 fucking songs??), and TSwift just had to release a few more “special editions” of TTPD the day Billie’s new album drops? So fucking juvenile, and self-serving in a way that isn’t even serving her. It’s just bad form, plainly defensive, jealous. And yes I’m sure the biggest star in the world 100% has tons of insecurity and unprocessed shame / inadequacy shit. thanks for coming to my ted talk rant

 Re: Billboard chart discussion thread
Well Taylor's pettiness is one of the keys to her songwriting, and its what has driven her all the way to the top. That being said, why not just let Billie be #1 for a week? Would it really be such a big deal? No one cares if TTPD spends 10 weeks at #1 or whatever record they are going for.
Also, why does Morgan Wallen still have two albums in the top ten?

Apparently Houdini is going top 5… I’m more into it than I expected after first listen.

What made Sabrina Carpenter happen all of a sudden? The industry has been pushing her for years to no avail.

I like the year's other breakout pop star, Chappell Roan, a lot more. Good Luck Babe is up to 21!

Chappell so close at #11. Will probably get in next week before being knocked out by the Zach Bryan barrage the week after.

 Re: Billboard chart discussion thread
28 feels like Bryan's next song that's in the top 10 for 30 weeks, and Wallen's new song Lies, Lies, Lies feels a little different for him at least, more like an Uncle Kracker era type ballad.

A Bar Song is evil genius mix of the sample of Tipsy, the country and length of Last Night, the broke people references of Break My Soul, the voice of whoever was singing in the Wake Me Up Avicii song, and the TikTok danceability of Greedy.

Random trivia that came up today, Sabrina Carpenter is the niece of the voice actor who has played Bart Simpson for 35 years (Nancy Cartwright). Ay carumba!!!
