I'm sorry, but Nevermind is the most overrated album of all time. I hate it when people say it is one of the greatest albums ever, I know that everybody can have their opinion, and if you think it is great, go ahead and list it, but I personally think the album wasn't even good.

Nirvana ain't that good either.

They're better

THAN ANY BLOATED TEN-MINUTE GUITAR SOLO HARD ROCK BANDS

Moving Pictures is also my fav rush album but listening to 2112 live is something special. Hell listening to any rush live is something special. My cd Rush in Rio is always competing with zeppelin's How the West Was Won as to what I should be listening to in my cd player.

Yes, most live albums (of any band) are good. AC/DC has a pretty good live album too.

Thank God! Somebody finally agrees with me on Nirvana!

They took pushed sloppy guitar playing to the max. Jimmy Page did it but he made it sound great. Cobain just ruins the style.

But Page was a guitar expert!

Cobain's true gifts lie in his awesome emotional song-writing

THAT HE AUGMENTS WITH

Distinctive yet not overly-complicated guitar-playing!

I'd much rather be listening to Jimmy Page rock out to Stairway to Heaven for 10 minutes, John Bonham or Neil Peart bust out an awesome yet long drum solo or the might of Geddy Lee/Robert Plante's voice screeching above the powerful instruments then hear Cobain trying to sing and snort coke at the same time.

That is a tired and oft-repeated way of

TRYING TO DISCREDIT WHAT NIRVANA

did

Personally the one ahmed johnson would find their music excellent

WHETHER COBAIN DIED OR NOT

Taking coke and writting lyrics about how sad people make you surely doesn't take that much talent.

Well, Jimmy Page had talent........thats something Cobain didn't have (atleast in guitar playing)

Cobain had no talent. His lyrics are mainly from all the crack he did and doing crack isn't a talent.

SOME people would argue that doing crack IS a talent;however, I agree with you. It pains me when I'm talking to somebody and they mention that Nirvana is great and even compare them to greats such as Led Zep, AC/DC, GNR, etc.... When people say that I go off on a rant about how that is blashepmy to compare them to those greats!

AC/DC - one of the least creative (and dumbest) bands ever

HOW CAN THEY BE GREAT??

GnR created one magnificent album

BUT THE FOLLOW-UPS WERE BLOATED AFFAIRS

Of Course! I always forget Black Album, even though it is one of their best.

Electric Ladyland- Jimi Hendrix
At Folsom Prison- Johnny Cash

Thre one ahmed johnson loves led zeppelin too!

But in general that histrionic style of guitar playing is pretty naff

AND OVER-DONE

Jimmy Page was inspired enough to make his solos memorable and necessary to most of LZ's songs

In general that style though is overblown and pompous

Page's guitar solo's are overblown and pompous but he's got the raw talent to support the level of pompousness (word??) that he gives out. Many other guitarists just don't have the talent to even attempt something like Page's work yet always try.

In Utero is a brillian album as well

as for AC/DC being responsible for Nirvana???

WRONG

Nirvana come from bands like Pixies and alternative rock not dumb

HARD-ROCKERS :P

GnR totally brought back rock & roll. Nirvana in a way killed it. They made it so mainstream and just made the MTV world crazy about them. How can that be bringing back R&R?

exactly

That is why Ahmed is backing Nirvana cause they didn't try that style of rock

THEY WERE MUCH MORE EFFECTIVE AND DIRECT (not than Zepp but that style of rock in general)

and they also killed off the naff 80s metallers!

so be thankful!

GNR has three great albums...... So your telling my that nirvana never listened to people like AC/DC, and even if nirvana wasn't influenced by AC/DC, AC/DC was popular enough to open the doors for people like GNR, and then later on Nirvana

With Nirvana alt-rock became more mainstream

BUT THEY DID BRING BACK RNR BECAUSE

they took the emphasis away from 80s hair-rock which wasn't

rock and roll

AT ALL

Appetite for Destruction
Use Your Illusions I
Use Your Illusions II

Now those 3 albums rock very hard. GnR have 5 albums out there. 3 awesome albums out of 5 beats the hell out of Nirvana.

Theres a ton of guitar bands many of them popular

AC/DC WEREN'T SOME SINGULAR DRIVING FORCE BEHIND ROCK N ROLL RESURGENCE

Cobain seems to be strongly influenced by The Beatles (his melodies)

AND NEIL YOUNG (his abrasive distorted guitar style)

AS MUCH AS HARD ROCK STUFF

which also played an influence

UYI 1 & II have their

INSPIRED

moments!

But they are bloated as hell

AND LACK THE TRUE GREATNESS TO BE CLASSICS

If they were combined into one singular 12 track album

WITH THE BEST SONGS

Perhaps then it would be a classic follow-up!

Nirvana is just a bunch of stoned out people trying to play instruments! The only one with some kind of talent was Grohl. GnR killed off the 80s hair metal (pop metal... hate saying that word) with AfD.

Yea, but atleast somebody was listening to some kind of rock, even if I don't like the band. Isn't it better that people be listening to rock, instead of NOT listening to rock?
