Not bad, though Cruise for actor seems ambitious

I agree. I myself didn't vote for him - I went for someone that actually gave a capital P performance - but I am also glad he won because it's more of a legacy award and his career certainly deserves that.

Thanks for running this Flavian! Another year where kJ wins are better than the Academy Awards.

So happy for Top Gun! The most deserved. Good to see Cruise win BA but I wanted Butler to win.

Puss should have won over Red though.

Yes, I don't get this win.

Well its easy to understand even if you set aside opinions about quality. Turning Red has been widely available for 12 months on Disney+ while Puss just hit Peacock a day before the ceremony.

I voted Red for animated and Puss for screenplay. They were both great.

Thanks for organizing this! Great show.

20 of my picks ended up winning, 4 not, and 1 abstained. No shock what I was rooting for!

Tom Cruise for actor for me was really about legacy and dedication to the movie industry, theatrical experience and also rebooting a 36 year old franchise took a lot of chutzpah to pull of. 2022 just felt a year of TGM and even in a small way, felt he should get recognized individually even if it wasn't the best "actor" in the traditional sense of acting ability. It really felt like a labor of love to get this movie off the ground.

I would love to see the list of all the most overlooked movies though so I check some of them out.
