Welcome back everyone. Its awards season, but before we find out what Hollywood thinks tomorrow night, it's time for the Real movie awards show - The World of KJ movie awards! We usually make way better choices, will that continue this year? Welp only one way to find out!

Best Original Score is coming up!

Post Re: The 19th World of KJ Movie Awards
A wise woman once said 'music make you lose control.' I don't know if Missy really fits in here, or if she's just using this opportunity to campaign for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (I like Missy but would vote for Rage, Soundgarden, A Tribe Called Quest, The White Stripes and Joy Division / New Order.) What I always find crazy is that seeing a movie is also basically watching a classical music concert and its really the only place that genre is still huge.

Anyways, here are the nominations for 2023s Best Original Score

Best Original Score

The Batman by Michael Giacchino
Everything Everywhere All At Once by Son Lux
The Fabelmans by John Williams
Glass Onion by Nathan Johnson
The Menu by Colin Stetson

And the first award of the 19th Annual World of KJ Movie Awards goes to....

A great way to kick us off and it also shall be the official soundtrack for the movie awards that I shall put on ... right now.

The first song is called Can't Fight City Halloween. :hahaha:

The album is about two hours and I'd like to have this award show done by then. So lets do this!

Next up is Breakthrough of the Year!

Breakthrough doesn't necessarily mean new. We've seen these people hanging around before, but they never really made an impact like they did in 2023. These are the nominees for Breakthrough of the Year.

Austin Butler (Elvis)
Mia Goth (The House, Pearl and X)
Stephanie Hsu (Everything Everywhere All At Once)
Gabrielle LaBelle (The Fabelemans)
Jenna Ortega (American Carnage, Scream, Studio 666 and X)

And the KJ goes to...

Steph deserved that one after getting snubbed in the best supporting actress category. It was a close one though, as both Ortega and Butler were only one vote behind.

Next up will be Best Costumes

Who are you wearing right now?

Is a question I've never been asked. But I'm sure everyone who participated in these movies has been. Here are the nominees for Best Costume Design.

Babylon
Elvis
Everything Everywhere At All Once
Glass Onion
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

And the KJ goes to...

I usually root for superheroes in that category, but it is hard to argye against all the multiversal costume changes in that film. It must have taken crazy hard work to get Michelle Yeoh to dress like a rock. EE won comfortably in this category, with Wakanda and Elvis being three votes behind.

Next up will be Best Sound

I already talked about how movies have become the place to hear classical music, but the bone pumping sound effects are one of the biggest differences between watching a film in theaters (especially imax) and watching it at home. It makes the ever increasing amount of money we spend there worth it.

Here are the nominees for Best Sound

Avatar: The Way of Water
The Batman
Everything Everywhere All At Once
Tar
Top Gun: Maverick

No surprise that Top Gun dominated here. The opening scene of the jets taking off and landing probably secured the bag within five minutes. Tar was the only other film to recieve more than one vote.

Next up will be Best Original Song

Carolina by Taylor Swift (Where The Crawdads Sing)
Hold My Hand by Lady Gaga (Top Gun: Maverick)
Lift Me Up by Rihanna (Black Panther: Wakanda Forever)
New Body Rhumba by LCD Soundsystem (White Noise)

And the KJ goes to...

This is the second time I've hosted the awards and the second time that Taylor Swift has lost best original song. I hope she doesn't blame me for it. She would've needed two more votes to join the 3 way.

Next up will be Best Makeup

Anyways here are the nominees for Best Makeup

Whether it be CGI, physical or a combination of both - visual effects are what make blockbusters what they are and blockbusters are the main reason we follow the box office. So here are the nominees for Best Visual Effects

Another completely dominant win. Top Gun had 3 votes (including one from me), but that wasn't even close to good enough.

Next up will be Best Art Direction

I voted for The Menu for almost everything, but I liked this win alot because its so damn hard to set a movie all in one location. I know The Menu has different rooms and stuff, but it all felt connected.

Next up is hmmm... lets go with Best Foreign Language
