Just wait until The Marvels. Marvel is going to break the fragile minds of these people if they decide to establish Carol and Maria as lovers (or past lovers). 3 women leads = 1 gay / 1 black / 1 brown. Trifecta of a basement dweller's rage.

And Kamala Khan is a very cool character, by the way. But with more representation being present in modern comics, and when those characters make their way to TV/film in the coming years, I suspect most/all of them are going to receive some bigoted backlash. A gay and black Aquaman!? A gay Robin?? (...) Superman's son is GAY?! Harley is bi and with Poison Ivy!? She's suppose to love Joker! Etc, etc., etc. (Not to mention characters that haven't appeared on screen yet.)

That said, the initial "Thor is a GIRL?!" and "Captain America is BLACK?!" nonsense has largely subsided from past years, I think, so could be encouraging for all the future characters when they make it out of the comics (technically gay/black Aquaman (Young Justice) and bi Harley (Harley Quinn) have already appeared in animation, but most non-comic fans aren't aware of them, I don't think).
