Yeah, they do seem to butcher most things.

Although I really want to try the doritos shell taco at Taco Bell  and only because I love American Doritos

Nope. The Mexican version is somewhat spicier.

Sushi is fast becoming my favourite. But not all sushi bars are the same. The dominant chain in China is Genki Sushi, and my God I can't get enough.

Yeah I love sushi too. A quality Sushi restaurant is always better than a chain - but some chains are very good.

Years ago I would never try it but when I became hooked once I had it in Hawaii in 2009.

Love Wasabi

Ok, so 2015 was a long time ago and now the list looks like this:

1. Turkish
2. Italian
3. English
4. Chinese
5. Indian
6. Japanese
7. Mexican
8. German
9. American

I've just never had a bad time at a Turkish restaurant. It's all meat and wraps and even lovely desserts. It's just that cuisine that speaks to me. Italian is world-class, too. Reliable and widespread for a reason; because it always delivers. English because I'm English. Chinese because it almost feels second nature to me having spent much of my life there. Japanese mainly due to sushi but their ramen, curry, and tempuras are nice too. Indian is basically the adopted cuisine in England so it again feels very natural to me to eat a curry or have the taste/aroma in other food (such as crisps or pies). There is even a British pie called Coronation Chicken, which sounds very royal and British, but it's just curry flavour. Mexican is probably the newest cuisine for me, and I find it highly depends on the restaurant, but I've eaten some magnificent Mexican food. I don't even mind the Taco Bell variety either, but prefer other establishments if I can. German because their sausages are gorgeous, and apple strudel is yum. American because who doesn't love a burger and a hot dog and fries and a milkshake from time to time. It's satisfying as fuck. All the top nine are excellent in their own ways.

I will say this about American cuisine. It’s terrible in other countries, whereas the US can replicate the best of other country’s cuisines. saying we’re only known for hot dogs, burgers and apple pie, I think of steak, bbq, chicken, and particular northeast Italian, breakfast, and seafood. Also ice cream, chicken wings and tenders., and sub sandwiches including the Philly and Reuben. That’s like saying Asia is known for rice and Brit’s fish and chips. I just think the variety is much stronger here, but like said you need to come here, I think the USA has great food but has also elevated most authentic global cuisines. 29 countries and counting, I don’t think one country outside of Belgium made something better locally that isn’t better in the states.

I had a good time in Korean restaurant when I tried. I like that they are enjoyers of meat, and having screens full of Kpop music videos is a fun enough gimmick.

Well I've had American cuisine in America and other countries, and I disagree. It's the same. Just depends where you go. You say it as if American cuisine is difficult to reproduce. Like it's some kind of heightened food experience, lol

I've never bought into this idea that only the source country can make their own food. Nah. Chinese food can be just as good in the UK as in China. Again, it just depends where you go.

But with globalisation coming to an end, I suspect that won't be true much longer.
