I like the Eagles getting Malcolm Jenkins (and also releasing Patrick Chung - THANK GOD). Kinda wanted Byrd more, but we're paying a lot less and still getting a very good safety. So I'm okay with it.

Very interested to see where Revis lands.

Aqib Talib deal may be the worst contract I have ever seen given out.

Yeah, Byrd would have been nice but his price tag is a little too hefty.....and we don't want people calling this years Eagles the Dream Team 2.0....that would be a huge curse.

Talib will be worth the money if he plays like he did the first half of last year and doesn't get hurt.

Otherwise, that's a ton of money for a usually injured player.

NFL Network and ESPN both report that DeMarcus Ware has signed with the Broncos, 3 yrs/$30M.

Because everyone saw their defense fail in the Super Bowl.

Donald Brown signed a 3 year contract with the SD Chargers.

WHY!? they need Linebackers, safeties! Ryan Matthews made a huge improvement last season and they have Danny Woodhead, that was excellent last season too. Maybe its an insurance? Matthews tends to injure himself very easily...but still... :glare:

He wasn't tested the first half of the season. He is a top 5 corner, no doubt, but that is crazy money for a guy who is injury prone and has major off the field red flags.

Mean while, DARRELLE FUCKING REVIS to the Pats =

MOTHER OF GOD

Not sure why the Browns felt the need to replace Jackson and Ward with more expensive guys that aren't better. Oh, I do know why they did it, cause they are the Browns.

Packers just signed Julius Peppers. This gives the Packers D all kinds of options this coming season. I think this is a great signing. Yes, he's old. But even though it's technically a 3 year deal, only 7.5M the first year is guaranteed. After that they can cut him without consequence if he isn't worth it. It's essentially a one year deal. With Raji moving back to nose tackle where he was most productive (and now playing on a one year contract to prove himself), and Peppers lining up with Clay Matthews, I think the Packers defensive line is in good shape now, and their pass rush will be much improved.

Dunking over the goal post will now be penalized.

This is stupid. The league is seriously trying to suck the fun of all games. :glare:

RGIII still needs to stay healthy for them to have a dangerous offense.

Post subject:  Re: 2014-2015 NFL Discussion Thread

Their defense is still mediocre at best. And RGIII is injury-prone. But this is big for them if he's healthy. Definitely going to be competitive for the NFC East now.
