There are a few new nice things this year which I added. First: There is an ability to allow Draft Picks for the following year to be included in trades which I quite fancy since we are almost the same bunch every year

Then there is the possibility of a waiver budget, meaning you just don't claim anybody from waivers you have to bid a certain amount of dollars for it.

Please give feedback if you like those two, when you would like to draft and which scoring categories you'd like

So since we have draft pick trades are we finally doing keepers?...figures after I end last season with Durant, Kobe and Melo on my team....

So far, this is not a keeper league. The draft pick trades are only for when you pick next year. If you trade me your second round pick, you won't pick a player in round two and I would have two.

Would you all want to be it a keeper league? The problem is how to determine who would be a keeper and who not?

How about anyone on a 2 year or more contract is a keeper, and then we draft free agents and rookies every year.

I don't mind have 1-2 keeper players since I've never been in a keeper league.

Never done keeper in B-Ball...
been doing keepers in football for 6 years. Everyone can keep 2 players for a max of 2 years(if they wish). They keep the draft spot you drafted them in ex Durant in round 1 would count as your round 1 pick for next 2 years. If you pick up a free agent or trade or something then you have to come up with which spots that would be in draft next year (in my football league its 5th round for a free agent keeper)...but every league varies on rules for free agent and trade keepers

Regarding the keepers: It seems to me that you can't designate players as keepers. The only way to do this is to assign keepers before the draft for every team which doesn't really make sense to me.

If someone has a better understanding of this, let me know. Otherwise we'll go ahead without keepers

this is set up for if you wish to keep players from last year. If we were to do keepers this year going into next year you do nothing until next years draft....but we would need to know so we dont drop someone who we might want to keep next year, its a whole different ball game with keepers, lots of thinking

With Keepers you have to assign draft order and players. Draft order would be easy just go in order of standings, worst picks first etc.

If we wanted to keep 1-2 players from last year then everyone would have to tell you who they wanted to keep before the draft so you could place that player on the team and set up the draft order

keepers are based on who you end the season with not who you drafted....thus I would have been able to keep Durant, and then Kobe, Melo, Bynum or Monta....

I just locked the teams. If we had gotten an eleventh player it would have spelled trouble for the draft because of the uneven numbers. Plus: Someone who hasn't joined this far likely won't return next year which would be problematic because of keepers
