Harden for George?

Big big numbers for rotation players, but I like what the Cavs are doing. Niang and Struss give them shooting and flexibility. And might as well resign Levert and hope he can blossom into a proper sixth man.

Yeah we weren’t matching 43m a year for VanVleet

And they just gave Brooks $20M/year too. What is happening???

This entire free agent season is like watching the Gordon Hayward contract happen over and over.

Also, so kind of Dame to wait until AFTER the Blazers overpay Jeremih Grant to ask for a trade to a specific team. What a dick lol.

Doesn't look like Wemby is surrounding himself with the best people. Over/under four years on him being the next Ja Wick?

He is on the dates a Kardashian, leaves San Antonio for the Lakers in 7 years side of things rather than the Jokic/Duncan leave me alone one

Team Wemby's security. Britney was being weird trying to touch giant guy's shoulder (also using british accent?)

60 million a year to Jaylen Brown doesn't seem ideal

Harden likely got offered similar to the Fred Van Fleet deal from Houston, with Van Fleet being their second chouce. Which i think he likely would've taken it instead of opting in, had Morey not lied about promising to trade him to Clippers or another contender.

He also took less money last summer to help 76ers, possibly as a wink wink that they would make him whole with big deal later.

Morey showed how long he can play chicken with Ben Simmons so Harden may have to go to war and show up to the season fat and tanking for half the season to get them to trade him.

I wonder if the Blazers should just hold on and hope a Scoot+picks for Embiid trade becomes available

I don't get the point of the midseason tourney that takes place at the start of the season. The prize is money, but the winners have to work more so is it really a prize or just overtime?

Predictions

Lillard: Toronto

Harden: Philly to start season, gets ugly and eventually traded for a Clipper wing

Heat: LaVine

Didn't see that coming. Is Jrue -> Dame really a huge upgrade for this team though?

Remember the NBA all star draft, Giannis picked Damian first overall over his teammate Jrue Holiday next?

Post subject:  Re: NBA Thread: Lillard to Bucks

Seems ok for Bucks but it seemed like their biggest problem last year was having old guys like washed Crowder and Ingles as their bench and trading Grayson Allen and multiple 1st assets isn’t going to help that. I also don’t know if they needed to panic with a team that was already proven title caliber and coaching change might have put them back over the top on its own.

Phx didn’t need to trade Ayton for Nurkic, I think their owner just likes making trades cause it’s fun

Portland seems like they did pretty decent all things considered if they get stuff back for Holiday.

Holiday to Celtics for Brogdon, Rob Williams, 1sts

I feel like losing Williams hurts as Porzingis gets injured all the time

Post subject:  Re: NBA Thread: Lillard to Bucks

But Williams gets injured all the time too, so I think it's simply a win for the Celts, Bucks got better too, Lillard, Gianni's got to be the best duo right now. Ayton is basically better than anything the Sun's got in return, but really, Ayton wasn't really fitting well in that team either, they moved him and got some different pieces they can try now. Look forward to the the season.

Post subject:  Re: NBA Thread: Lillard to Bucks

The Celtics would have great lineup to play Suns or Warriors in the finals (or a sleeper contender like the Cavs/Grizzlies) with all those good defensive perimeter players, but against Giannis/Jokic/Embiid/Davis they are not as good a matchup with Porzingis and aging Horford as their bigs.
