The only thing sadder about his dick is the amount of fans still riding it during all this. But I guess if you haven't lost your love for WWE through their inept storytelling, endless rematches, "shocking" releases and just the overall shitshow they produce every week, you're never going to lose it.

Yeah sorry but giving employees he had an affair with hush money is hardly the worst thing Vince has ever done. Hell they used to make that a story. Trish, Torrie, Stacey, Candace, probably many more all had to make out with him on screen, sometimes in front of his wife, who was sometimes in a coma.

I feel like after little kids cried at RK Bro getting beat up, Vince is gonna push Riddle as his new Cena. His stoner bro days would be the Dr of Thugonomics of his career.

Things I like (up to early June)

- Big Time Becks: This era might go down as an addendum to her The Man run, but I've really enjoyed this run especially the more comedic it's gotten. They repeated the joke every week for the next month but Asuka's "you left to become a mommy, but instead you're acting like a baby" was great. They would make a fun tag team leading Becky to turn face.

- Raquel Rodriguez: I liked how they made Raquel look like a major player immediately with her match with Ronda. The slight increase in sex appeal from NXT worked and the 6 footer height really stands out compared to someone like the deceptively short Ripley.

- The Bloodline: It's stating the obvious, but they are always interesting with the Usos and RKBro tag team storyline being good. It's disappointing Reigns had multiple PPVs without a defense in a row, with that said being this intimidating figure in the background to the point where Sami faking his music coming on stopped everyone in their tracks so much, is pretty cool. Word to Sami as well.

Things I don't like as much:

- The Judgment Day: While some of the aesthetic choices like the entrance is cool and I understand it fills a Wyatt family type slot they were missing, I don't particularly like watching either Priest or Ripley's matches, and the nearly 49 year old Edge can only do so much to make for it. The storyline of them showing their true selves instead of pandering to the crowd makes sense for Ripley and Priest joining, but I don't see what it has to do with "judgment" and the scales. Maybe if he becomes the king of Raw by becoming champion it would work better, but not sure putting the title on Edge is justified at this point.

- Ricochet's IC title run: Total nothing

- "Theory": It was a bad idea in the first place to give any high potential prospect the name Austin, but removing it makes his name one of the least fitting ever, maybe it would work for a submission specialist but for the dumb hotshot guy?

- Omos: The MVP storyline is decent from a promo perspective, but this guy is just way too slow/green. I still like Lashley though and think they can build Raw around him again.

- Veer: He is in the unfortunate situation of there being 2 squash characters going and Gunther being the better one, he just comes off like an immediate D lister. I guess he can hang around enough to job to Mansoor at Crown Jewel.

- Obviously delaying Reigns vs McIntyre until it can happen at "Clash at the Castle". I know it'll be a huge match for them, but it's just way too long to kill time, Reigns vs McIntyre should have been the WM Backlash match followed by Hell in a Cell.

- Multiple Jinder/Shanky vs Los Lotharios matches actually happening on Smackdown: I know it was an excuse to have Shanky bust a move, but holy crap, find some babyfaces to use to instead of heel jobber vs heel jobber.

- The Street Profits not turning heel yet: Wasn't Ford doing some matches in the dreadlock black pants heel gear like 6 months ago, but they haven't pulled the trigger yet even though they obviously need it? I guess this allows them to feud the Judgment Day with Bianca since there isn't a lot of groups with 2 males and a female around.

Well, so much for that, and Edge's 3 month heel turn. Priest is probably the best promo in the group now which isn't a great sign.

I always enjoy when Shack posts because it reminds me of what pissed me off a few months ago.

Find someone who loves you like Vince loves Reigns vs Lesnar main eventing major PPVs

I thought I had the story figured out that Reigns would beat Riddle and then Orton would make triumphant return to face him, but alas

I think last night's Dynamite main event was the worst I've seen. It wasn't atrocious, exactly, and it was still somewhat entertaining at points, but it was certainly a big mess.

Having Ruby hold the controls to the cage obviously meant she was going to lose control of it to someone (Tay) and cause the match to become a brawl with the JAS and the others. Which would have been... okay, but it fell apart after that plan went into motion. The lock/key wasn't working (two of them even escaped through the bars...), botches became rampant, etc.

I suppose we'll eventually get a Kingston/Jericho one-on-one match where Kingston comes out on top, but I figured last night's match was going to be it. Maybe at All-Out?

They are most likely shifting the direction of the feud to Sammy vs Kingston, possibly a mixed tag match along with Tay Conti/Anna Jay and Ruby Soho/???.

I don't mind Jericho getting the win since Kingston already won last ppv, and I think they are trying to give him as much meaningful wins prior to his impending retirement.

Post subject:  Re: Wrestling (WWE, IMPACT, NXT, AEW)

Kingston has been trying to get back at Jericho though, and has yet to do so. His team won at Blood & Guts, but he was wanting to get the win over Jericho and didn't. That's why this is still ongoing, right?

If Kingston gets an eventual clean victory over Jericho, then last night's result was fine. It was still a messy match, especially toward the end.

Note... it's "fine" that this was a bad main event. This was their only bad main event I can recall all year, for instance. If you can go half a year or longer before having a bad night, you're doing something very right.

My biggest problem with the main event: why weren't Sammy and Tay Conti in the shark cage? From the second that only four members of the JAS appeared we knew exactly what was gonna happen for the finish, then it somehow got even more schmozy.

Eddie losing only makes sense if there's another match on the horizon. But they've already done Anarchy in the Arena, Blood n Guts and now Barbed Wire Everywhere Shark Cage match. Where does it go from here? Where can it go?

I hate being an AEW apologist but I'll take a bad main event over the endless mediocre ones on RAW or Smackdown.

But yeah it was rough. AEW really doesn't need to keep doing these barbed wire matches. I also like how the shark cage was advertised as high above the ring, but it looked to be barely a few feet up in the crowd instead.

And I could do with this feud ending now. I have to assume there will be one last match at All Out, but it should be over by now. It feels like The Inner Circle vs. The Pinnacle and JAS vs. Kingston and Co. took up about a year and a half of time combined.

As someone who has been watching wrestling for 30 years, and seen my fair share of retirements and "loser leaves WWE" matches, colour me skeptical that Vince McMahon is retiring. :P

But seriously, IF he actually steps away from WWE and doesn't have a controlling hand in the company, it couldn't fucking hurt the company. I'm just assuming he will still be heavily involved. Just "on paper" he's retired.

So much news in like... 4 hours!

-Vince retires.
-Stephanie takes over as Chairwoman (officially) and Co-CEO alongside Nick Khan.
-HHH is back in his executive role.
-Brock Lesnar walks out before Smackdown tonight. I wonder if they'll react same way they did Sasha and Naomi and call him unprofessional.
-Goldberg expected to replace Lesnar at SS against Reigns now.

I have a hard time believing Vince will cede all creative control

HHH being Theory’s new kayfabe mentor would be cool

Theory has it as a promo I think, and better at it than someone like Rollins ever was. However he is average as a wrestler.

This is WWE's big moment to turn things around, if we believe Vince is indeed fully hands-off now. I want to believe he is, as another big reveal came out today (or yesterday), but we'll see.

NXT was amazing when HHH was in control. And giving him the reigns over the main product could mean big things. I don't imagine a change overnight or perhaps not even by the end of this year, but I'm hopeful. Moving to TV-14 again should help by providing everyone more breathing room, too.

And, if we assume Vince is 100% gone, one has to wonder what sort of impact this could potentially have on AEW regarding their talent. Most that left or were fired didn't seem particularly fond of Vince, while most seem to really enjoy working with HHH. Could see some ex-WWE talent jumping back, or AEW talent considering it as well.

If there's a clear HHH effect my prediction would be the main eventers like Reigns stay the main eventers, and the bottom guys stay the bottom guys. I don't think Balor and Ciampa will be saved from their weaknesses on main roster. It's in the proven but not Reigns/Lesnar level stars like Rollins, McIntyre, Lashley, Styles, Owens, Orton, etc. where it seems a bit more fluid that you could push one and refuse to push the others, and HHH might have different preference like Vince being McIntyre > Owens and HHH being Owens > McIntyre. Or maybe AJ could get out of his midcard, tag team, etc. place that he's been stuck in since he lost his last world title.

I just want a rotating cast in the main event scene. We'll see what happens, but Drew winning the title in Wales would be a good start. Roman v Rock definitely does not need any championships attached to it.

Garcia beating Danielson has to one of the biggest upsets in recent history right?

Author:  Mister Ecks [ Sat Jul 30, 2022 10:16 am ]
Post subject:  Re: Wrestling (WWE, IMPACT, NXT, AEW)

People shit on how much Daniel Garcia is featured on AEW especially in main events, but then they'll shit on how they only focus on ex-WWE people. I like his style. He needs more personality sure, but I don't hate him.

Certainly a shocking win, which is good. Too often we get the guy we know is going to win (Danielson, Punk, Cole, Omega, etc.) against someone who is on a 10-match winning streak, thanks to a bunch of AEW Dark matches. Which is fine, I think that's the way wrestling should be, and it builds up the match a little more.

But it's nice when a surprise like this happens. My only issue remains that this feud is going way too long, and now seems to be breaking off into sub-feuds now. Kingston/Jericho with some combo of Ruby/Tay/Sammy/Anna Jay in the mix. Garcia with Hager against Danielson.
