Same old Cubbies.

The good news though is that rotation will be solid for quite sometime. The lineup needs quite a bit of work though.

How do you beat a team 7-0 in the regular season then just get beat down in the post season? A couple of those games the first inning just killed them. It's like their pitchers had the jitters before settling down. Such a shame.

I think the Cubs just ran out of gas in the post season, and I agree I think they might had jitters. They are a young team and will be back next year.

Convention would say Meta over Royals as good pitching beats good hitting and the Royals rotation was the weakest going into the post season to begin with, but the Royals style of hitting works well against the Mets style of pitching so this should be a good series unless the Royals have an offensive funk.

Royals looked great tonight. Mets pitching haven't looked as sharp as last round.

Congrats Kansas City Royals, they showed much resilience and never were out of it. I liked seeing a team like them win the World Series.

Royals did it. The most impressive thing about this is not the fact that they won, but how they won (3 wins when trailing after the 8th, and two after the 9th). The reverse Back to the Future happened here. Mets fans will be haunted on how they lost (I thought Collins left in Harvey two batters too late).

This Royals team had to have had one of the most fun teams to watch in baseball postseason history.

By the way, great call Jedi Master, even as a lifelong Royals fan, I had my doubts in September, but you stuck to your gut.

thinks, I began to think the Cubs might make a run but they were just too young. They had a great season and should be proud of what they accomplished. Now the offseason begins. The Red Sox have made two big moves so far picking up Price and Kimberl. They should be a much better team next year. Too early to say who the favorite is, although I suspect a lot of people will jump on the Cubs.

John Lackey to Cubs, I am down with that. The Diamondbacks got Greinke randomly

So the Blue Jays decide David Price is too rich for them but sign J.A. Happ, Marco Estrada and Justin Smoak to 30 mil combined next season. Lol I would be so mad. The decision to fill their front office with the guys who used to run the Cleveland Indians, a team that has had 1 good season in 8 years, is really paying off for them

Price has issues in the playoffs and is not a true flagship pitcher like Baumgarder when it matters. Better to pay for three good pitchers over one Ace.

As a Royals fan I am glad Zobrist went to a team I like. Dude's a helluva a player. Cubs are stacked right now.

The Red Sox tried that last year and it blew up in their face. You have to have an ace, and they have to hope he can turn it around it in the playoffs.

Alex Gordon returns to the KC Royals. Nice to see a hometown guy stay with the local team.

Three games today, y'all.

I'm cautiously optimistic about the Mariners and the Red Sox, but they both stunk in 2015 despite looking good on paper, so we'll see.

My Predictions.

AL West
Astros
Rangers
Angels
Mariners
A's

Astros added Fister to replace Kazmir, and got a dominant closer in Giles, so they improved their team. The Rangers will get Darvish soon, and they have lots of talent, but health is getting in their way. The Angels are better than what people think. The offense is more about team speed, and based on Spring performances, they are playing Scioscia ball again, hit and run and stealing bases, it worked for the Royals. There is no easy out in this offense, but the health of the rotation is still in question. The Mariners added some veristile pieces, but the rotation still has question marks after Felix, and the offense as well. The A's are in rebuilding mode, but they are not that bad of a team, they are just in the wrong division. They can be pest, but they are too young.

AL Central
Royals
Indians
Tigers
Twins
White Sox

This division is so balance, that any team has a chance to win. I would not be surprised if the first and last place team are only 5 games apart. But lets try to predict this. The Royals have the most balanced offense in this division, and clearly the best defense anywhere, but the rotation is not the best, and the bullpen will be without Holland for a while, but at least they got Soria back. The Indians, have the best rotation in the AL. But is their offense enough. Napoli adds some pop, but the loss of Brantley hurts. The Tigers have the best offensive players in the game, but there are some easy outs as well. The Rotation has the biggest questions marks anywhere, as they can be really good or really bad. Zimmerman is a good pick up, and K-rod gives them a closer, but it's not enough. The Twins have some good young talents, and a dominant bullpen, but the rotation, though talented, are still too young. The White Sox added some power with Fraizer and Lawrie, but the rotation aside from Sale and Quintana is worrisome, and the offense was the worse last year, improved but not enough.

AL East.
Blue Jays
Red Sox
Rays
Yankees
Orioles

Another toss up. Blue Jays has the most talented offense in baseball period. Stroman returns as their ace, with an okay rotation and an okay bullpen. Still, the offense will lift their slightly above average pitching. The Red Sox did some major shopping, getting Price to lift their rotation, and Kimbrel gives them a closer. The offense has potential, but Panda and Ramirez need to step up. The Rays have the best Rotation in this division, which will keep them in games despite their low offensive power, but at least the defense is good. The Yankees have a powerhouse bullpen, but that's basically it. The offense is full of stars, from a decade ago. Aside from Tanaka, the rotation has way too many question marks to count. The Orioles are the opposite of the Rays, they have the firepower in the offense, although one dimensional, talent on the field, the bullpen is still rock solid, but their starting pitching is garbage.

NL coming up next.

Post Re: 2016 Major League Baseball Discussion
Now time for the NL

NL West
Dodgers
D-backs
Giants
Padres
Rockies

The Dodgers, despite the loss of Grienke, still have a talented rotation, but health will remain an issue. The offense is solid, but none of them pose a huge threat, but at least there are no easy outs. The most balanced team in this division. The D-backs, well, it's all about two words: Grienke and Miller. Miller will easily get run support from a very potent offense. The bullpen is still worrisome, they need to fix that in order to beat the Dodgers. It is an even number year, so can the Giants win again. They added Span for lead off team speed, and signed Cueto and Samarja. But their spring performances are alarming, meaning that they spent a lot of money on past their prime pitchers. They still have talent, but health and depth will be key. Padres are dumping once again, don't be surprised if they trade from more talent. Rockies, well, all offense and no pitching, nuff said.

NL Central
Cubs
Cardinals
Pirates
Brewers
Reds

Talk about high expectation. Cubs add Heyward and Zorbist to give them a complete offense, Lackey gets added to Arrieta and Lester to give them a powerful rotation. They have the best Manager in the game. The best team on paper, but are they expecting too much. The Cards still find ways to win, and add little pieces to fill the holes, like Leake and Gyorko. But the only concern this time is health. Some of the best players have health issues, but being the Cardinals, they always find ways. The pirates have talented pitching and offensive, but they did lose some key pieces, like Alverez, Walker and Burnett. Like the Cards, health is becoming and issue to this team. They have talent, but they are not as strong as the previous years. The Brewers have talent in the offense, but the pitching needs some major work. The Reds are in rebuilding mode, don't be surprised if Bruce gets traded.

NL East
Mets
Nationals
Marlins
Braves
Phillies

Mets have the best rotation in baseball, period. Four aces, all with potential Cy Young's in their grasp, and a former Cy Young Colon is their number 5 guys, and Wheeler comes back soon too. The offense from the second half remains mostly in tact, sans Daniel Murphy, but they do have Walker. Nationals will try to answer than. They have a very talented rotation, but not as good as the Mets. Their offense has more talent then the Met's however. Baker as manager gives them more confidence. Could be a race for the division, but the Mets have the edge. The Marlins are better than what people think, with the best batter and one of the best ace's in their staff. The offense is talented, but they are no Nats, and the pitching is nowhere near Mets territory. They have a good team, but are in the wrong division. Braves are in transition. They have a solid core of contact hitters, but no power at all. The pitching is loaded with question marks, but the young talent is coming up. Same for the Phillies, they have young talent coming up, but they are not ready yet.

Those are my predictions, what are yours.

Royals are looking like a championship style team winning games they probably should not win. But that's why they always do better than projected. They have that X-Factor. Imagine how long of a winning streak they can put together once they start hitting the ball better.

That all being said, this is the Cubs season.
