For the life of me I don't get college sports. It seems to me like some big universities using student players to rake in revenue, while the players get little to nothing in return other than one or two of them having a chance at a pro career.

They should end the fiction and pay the players. In fact, just drop the whole requirement that they be students at all, all that does is corrupt the school with corners being cut to fake grades and pretend that people are studying.

But mainly it would help the players, who can get some of the revenue they are creating, instead of being forced into a phony amateur status that is just an excuse by the schools to have cheap labor.

Nah I'm not cynical, just realistic. :)

No they cant just let the players not go to school, rather they should just actually enforce the damn rules and make school first.

Well then pay them and put it into a fund for after they graduate. But the current system as is seems like schools making money off the backs of virtually free labor.
