Quote:
DodgeBall: A True Underdog Story, commonly referred to as simply DodgeBall, is a 2004 American sports comedy film produced by 20th Century Fox and Red Hour Productions, written and directed by Rawson Marshall Thurber and starring Vince Vaughn, Ben Stiller, Christine Taylor, and Rip Torn. The film focuses on a rivalry between the owners of Average Joe's, a small gym, and Globo-Gym, a competing big-budget gym located across the street. Peter LaFleur (Vaughn), the owner of the smaller gym, has defaulted on his mortgage and enters a dodgeball tournament in an attempt to earn the money necessary to prevent his gym from being purchased by Globo-Gym. Globo-Gym enters a team in the tournament in an effort to ensure that Average Joe's gym fails.

Dodgeball received generally good reviews, with a 70% aggregate rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The film was a commercial success, grossing over $30 million in its first week and eventually grossed more than $114 million domestically.

I liked it in theaters, but it wasn't until I saw it again on DVD that I loved it. It's seriously like one of the funniest movies I've seen in a while. Vince Vaughn and Ben Stiller are gold.

It was rather funny. Not the best film of the year, but definately worth at least a rental (I'll probably buy it soon enough). B-

This was my blind buy last week. Very very funny, I loved it. I loved the channel station, "ESPN 8 THE 'OCHO' ". 86

"Its time to put your mouth where our balls are." Love that part.

After a few too many heavy dramas this was a welcome change. Some very funny one-liners. I grade it a B-.

Some good one liners, but mostly just average humor.

I thought it just felt good to watch. Not a feel-good movie, but just a good, funny movie.

Amusing, but overall it's quite average, nothing special.

It was probably the funniest movie I've seen in 2-3 years. I was literally falling off my seat in the theatre. So hilarious...

I agree with Lecter's post above.

It also had the year's funniest lines like "You had me at blood and semen." and "If you can dodge a wrench you can dodge a ball."

That line and the following training sequences had me in stitches. As well as the first game in the new "outfits"

Sure it was stupid and ridiculous, but I had a good time watching it. It was pretty funny too, but not super hilarious.

I give that Zoolander wasn't a great movie - and it had lots of ups and downs - but when it was up - it was very funny - also I remember it came out right after 9-11-01 so I needed some laughs.

Decent movie, and had some funny parts, but it was nothing that I would consider a classic comedy.

It does if the movie is an all-out comedy.

This wasn't supposed to be deep or insightful. It was affectionate in the right moments, it also had great timing, delivery, editting, and Vaugn is really the funniest guy in the biz today. that bit with Lance Armstrong had me snorfing my soda.

One of the most delightful little comedies I've seen in years. Truly a movie you can sit back, relax, and laugh with. And thankfully, no potty humor, which I hate.
