so...is anyone out there watching? judging by the ratings not many. it's too bad too, because it's a great show. I think many were also dissapointed because they were expecting haha funny from this show. Instead it's really dark, poignant, and ultimately brilliant.

Here's a bit from Entertainment Weekly:

I hated the pilot, but I stuck with the show, and I'm still watching. (I did miss last week's Aunt Sassy episode, though.)

Lisa Kudrow has mastered this character; she plays Valerie Cherish like no one else could.

You're off your rocker, Rod.

I do think it's a good premise (the reality show within a show, within a show), but see, the problem I have with it is that it doesn't make me laugh. You spend an entire episode watching Valerie get degraded in some form or another, then conceal her emotions, then get degraded again, and conceal her emotions...

Which could be funny. But it isn't. She has no one to play off of, so instead of the her character being funny, she tends to just flounder about.

The show has gotten better since the pilot, but it's still not really working for me.

The one episode that Rod forced me to watch (he gagged me and held me at gunpoint, that sleazebag) was the one with Charla from The Amazing Race. I thought it was pretty dark and hilarious.

Then I never caught up with it again, for some reason. Don't know why.

I'm still watching (Lisa Kudrow is my god), but I've missed the last two or three episodes since I've been away. I taped tonight's.

I loved it when she finally stood up for herself last week. But then this week, we were back to square one almost (she did snap on her four co-stars).

God, this show is just dreadful. It is mean-spirited and not funny at all.

I've been following it from the start. I missed one episode (five or six... "Valarie Saves the show")

I thought the Palm Springs episode was the best so far. Val finally stood up for herself. I kinda got the impression that the actoes and writers were more comfortable. Then we had Sunday, which was hillarious! The smoking kids. "But it's organic!"

Haha. I'm tired and I can't think of much more to say, other than I really, really love it and I hope rumors it was cancelled aren't true. This show could get even better.

Sunday's episode was just more floundering about.

I'm wondering if the show's going to make it to season two.

My gut feeling, based on the bad press and worse ratings, would be that it wouldn't.

But then you have to factor in how powerful some of the participants here are (Kudrow, King from Sex & The City).

Also, HBO seems to have formed a pattern of letting the red-headed stepchildren see a second year of life before sending them to the firing squad(see: Mind of the Married Man, Carnivale).

So, in other words, too close to call.

Don't forget that Arliss played for several seasons, and it was just as bad as, if not worse than, The Comeback.

I like it too, but i wish that Valerie would tell that prick Pauly G off. I HATE him so much. He is always so nasy to her, and to a bunch of other people also, but mostly Valerie. Those 2 idiots that they added to Valerie's show are ass' also. I am really hoping that either Pauly G or those 2 idiots get what's coming to them by the end of the season.

Does anybody think this show will get picked up for a second season? I think HBO needs to change their programming by having more than 1 night of original programming, but possibly moving The Comeback to a new night. I think they should try Mondays again.

So, you watch the show, do you?

And, you followed Six Feet Under's ratings news for Mondays this season, did you? I heard the numbers were disasterous. Six Feet Under, as I hear (only saw Season 1) is far from a perfect show, but if the fanbase couldn't follow it to Mondays, what show could possibly do well there? If they're going to try a new night, it's going to be anything but Monday. My suggestion is Wednesday. Spread it out a bit.

Well, Valerie finally stood up to Paulie G. and punched him in the stomach, dressed as a giant cupcake no less. Him throwing up followed by her throwing up after seeing him was probably the funniest moment of the season.

This show is very passive aggressive. After she drunk dialed Paulie, I thought she turned a corner. After she went on strike because of the cast, missed her morning call, then blew up, I thought she turned a corner. I wonder if her attack on Paulie will finally be a true change for her.

Its where she's in the cupcake dream and then she gets really mad at the writer and punches him!(THANK GOD FOR THAT!)

but I didnt really get why she threw up.

Great episode none the less.
