Awesome Ford flick. Can you beleive it was originally suppose to be Kevin Costner. Gary Oldman was amazing as the villian. Not just an action movie, but a great thriller. One of those movies when everything just clicks.

Solid action movie, with Harrison Ford in one of his last great roles. Plays up the Cold Water tensions well, with a decent supporting cast; the terrorists feel mean, the passengers evoke sympathy, and the action pleases. About all one could ask for with an action film, right? Aside from being entertaining, it doesn't do much more than that, though. No surprises, but certainly a fine way to spend the night with some popcorn.

I haven't seen it in some time, but it was one of my favorite films as a teen. Action flicks can't get much better than this.

A Fantastic movie that each and every day, Harrison Ford should sit down and pause and reflect on when was the last time he really had a good movie and this was it..

[font=century gothic]Yes, I'm sure he'll be doing that while he's rolling around in his vault, Scrooge McDuck style.
On that note, I think Air Force One was one of the first R-rated action flicks I saw in a theater. It was a very fun action film at the time and it still holds up although I probably haven't seen the film in a year. I still love the scene where Oldman yells at the girl and her mother to shut up in that phony Russian accent. I also really enjoyed Jerry Goldsmith's score.

jmart, we are about the same age.... this was one of the first R-rated films I saw, too. I remember sitting down and thinking it was a big deal - to see an adult movie in the theatre. Of course, I had been watching R rated films at home... but nevertheless, I'll always remember seeing this.

Is global politics done by a retarded 5 year old. Still I can't help but enjoy Gary Oldman eating scenery and all the gun-ho action.

I liked it when I was 16. At 23, I rewatched it and thought it was completely ridiculous. It's still an acceptable comedy movie though.

The SHIT, totally. The score is also unforgettable. 1997 was an incredible year for action flicks.

Re: Air Force One
Really enjoyed this when it came out and watched it again now for this first time since around then, and I'm still quite fond of it. In a nutshell it's indeed Die Hard on a plane, but the whole president and air force one plane angle does add an extra layer to it. I very much like the cast too, a who's who of 90's character actors, but great roles from Ford and Close too. There's one way to lean in critiquing the film for its dated effects, but there's also the other way where it feels like a great moment of its time, and I lean to the latter. It's a 90's action thriller classic.
