Deadline is saying international play will be $60m+, most of that coming from China. Some box office peeps are saying China presales are weak and heading for a weekend in the low 30s so we'll see.

I'll be shocked if it opens above $12M.

There is not enough action in the movie so I wonder how that will sit with general audience.

Every preview has tickets left. Bf didn't wanna go tho

China will debut below 30M. Probably around 40M for the international launch, ~100M total from these markets+DOM. Not sure about the rest of the markets — Australia could do some good business.

Regal is closed, theaters in major metros are closed, even my state which has been moderate with its restrictions has theaters closed now. It will have a nice average but I really can’t see it so much more than 20-30m

China's opening is looking to be under $20m... meh.

The #s for this are really gonna be tragic. Should this gross under Birds of Prey WW? Welp.

They really should have just pushed this to Summer 2021 when the October date didn't work out.

I do not think the release date is bad specially for Asian markets.

Be sure to check out our twitter feed, there's a WW84 box-office OW prediction poll.

I’m feeling 15m Fri-Sun, and a very large second weekend drop, since those who are desperate to see it in theaters will do so this weekend.

I have my tickets for tomorrow in Delaware! Can’t wait to see it on the big screen. Definitely will not be watching Warner’s 2021 slate on HBO Max lol.

Personally I won't be watching them in a theater. Any of theirs I'm interested in I'll watch on HBOMax. They don't deserve to make money off them after their big FU to theaters. I'll definitely see other movies from other studios in theaters this year though. They deserve the support. WB does not. That being said I hope WW1984 does well to show that enough people will go see something right now that's worth seeing in theaters. Hopefully then others will start releasing bigger movies and actually spending money to market them.

It was AT &Ts decision, not the filmmakers lol. No need to punish the entire creative team imo.

By watching them on HBO Max it's hardly a punishment but more like him choosing what the decision makers wanted.

I just looked at the presales across town. WW early shows 11am-2pm are all at least 80% full. News is running about 25%. Caveat is that they aren't selling half the seats in each one, but still, that's pretty good. The Marcus on my side of town still hasn't reopened, so I'll be waiting. 2/3's of the Marcus theaters in Wisconsin (16/24) are now open though, so maybe soon.

I'm not punishing the creative team. They already got paid. The only one it really hurts is Warner Bros. I have HBOMax and will still watch the ones I'm interested in on there but I don't want them to make any extra money from them.

I watched WW1984 on HBO Max and it was a perfectly fine experience. I also don't particularly care about the switch, it's the way of the future and kind of exciting.

I don't really blame studios really. It could be a year before people go back to the movies as people did in 2019. The problem the studios are running into is they will eventually have a backlog of movies. 2021 is going to be much better than 2020 for theaters. I really suspect Disney will follow WB. I also suspect Amazon and Netflix to bid over what movies the other studios have.

I'm assuming HBO Max subs are doing well today, film has been trending all day on Twitter. Will be interesting to see if it was worth it. After seeing the movie and with its current mixed reception I don't think it would've done a billion in normal times so maybe it's good it came out now.

If it came out in November 2019, definitely could have seen 450+ and competing with Frozen 2 for number one of the holidays. Just a hugely crowd pleasing and enjoyable film.

It's weird. Reviews for Wonder Woman 1984 are good. But now all I hear is how horrible and disappointing it is from people. Like everyone is trashing it. I've seen a couple people say it's the worst superhero movie they've ever seen which is obviously ridiculous. I wonder why everyone is so disappointed. I haven't seen it yet but I can't imagine not liking it more than the first.
