Any chance DS will jump more than 50% on next weekend?

That's what I call an accurate forecast.

LOL. I'm giving Wonder Woman the edge because I'm presuming it'll have a similarly high average ticket price as most Marvel/DC films (they do decently well on premium formats). But it could miss.

TPN did pretty well, I did think it was a "smarter" live action operation than most end up being so that's good for it I guess.

A question: given that DS will begin 4d screenings this saturday, what's the normal average price for those?

4DX showings have a surcharge of ¥1,200 (~$11.60) on top of what the individual pays for their general admission.

The general admission fee is ¥1,900 (~$18.40), but the only people who pay that are adults between 25-60 that go by themselves during the afternoon/evening. There are a lot of ways to get cheaper tickets, such as being a student (elementary all the way up through college), going as a pair if one of the two individuals is at least 50 (pretty common in the market), or being over 60 (senior citizen discount). And what time of day you go also can mean cheaper tickets.

Demon Slayer has been having an average ticket price above ¥1,400 (~$13.60) recently, so the average 4DX ticket will be around ¥2,600 (~$25.20) or so going by this. But generally speaking, they're ¥3,100 ($30) [general admission + surcharge fee].

Depending on where actuals fall, the 10th weekend of Demon Slayer could still make 4th highest on the list. Almost identical 10th weekend to Your Name.

Still pretty much unchanged from its ~¥35 billion (~$335 million) / ~26 million admissions goal. But it's still pretty early to project a finish at this stage with it still earning a lot, and it still has its first holiday period coming up, so it could go well above that.

This weekend is the game changer
Depending on the results of this holiday, it will affect the whole run of KnY.
Still leaning to it being at least 50+% up in this weekend.

I'll be a bystander/lurker in this forum in awhile. I'll return once KnY became number 1 and Gintama the Final is showing. Oh, and I also forgot.
Advance Merry Christmas (or Happy Holidays if there's a religion problem) to y'all.

Thanks. Are these showings usually listed as a separate entry on mimorin given the big ticket price disparity?

It takes a pretty pessimistic holiday modeling to get below 37B finish. 38-39 or so is where I expect to end up.

No, they'll be included in the overall figure. Several years ago ticket sales came in by format, including subbed and dubbed showings for imported films, but it was just way too cluttered and excluded a lot of films because a single film could have 4-6 (even more) entries.

I'm sure the 4DX showings will be very popular among the fans that come out once again for the final giveaway, and the 4DX showings themselves will have a second giveaway exclusive to them. Unless money is a real issue, why see it for a fifth time (or more) in standard or IMAX format again? We won't know how much they boost the average ticket price next weekend (and over the holiday period) until next week, but I'd imagine they'll provide at least a ¥100 bump to its recent averages judging by past 4DX films.

Usually the bump is higher, but since this is playing so wide, it shouldn't be quite as significant of a bump to the avg. ticket price that most films see since 4DX expansions are typically for smaller releases which results in the 4DX share of ticket sales being pretty decent.

Last Monday was boosted by giveaway spillover. Secondly, many fans who planned on watching it during these weekdays will probably wait until the weekend instead for the 4DX experience and another giveaway.

And last Monday was Toho Cinemas Day as well. Remember it increased over 20%. The drop will be pretty big today, and probably for the rest of the weekdays this week, too, since it's the week before the holiday period begins and before the final giveaway this weekend. It'll be mostly casual moviegoers for the next several days; not too many fans are going to come out until the weekend.
