Re: The TV news thread (ratings, renewal/cancellations, etc.
Wow I completely missed the news on The Society getting cancelled, but that honestly bums me out even more now that Glow, Mindhunter and The Dark Crystal Age of Resistance have also been cancelled.
I guess Netflix is just cutting their loses at this point if these shows don't really take off. I might not have loved The Society as much as those other shows, but it was a pretty great and underrated little show IMO and I was excited for a Season 2, especially after it initially got renewed, but I was wondering why we haven't gotten anymore news on it lately.

How much do ratings really matter when the biggest show (Mando) doesn't even report them?
They're the reason Grey's will be renewed until Ellen Pompeo dies so they're pretty important

Here we thought Netflix buying Knives out sequels was outrageous.

The most ridiculous part is with all this commitment, they hired nobodies as the head writers, their literally only credits on imdb is uncredited contributors to Star Trek Beyond. Either they stumbled onto unknown geniuses or they vastly underestimated how much the writing and not VFX was central to GOT's popularity.

This show has been in development so long that it wouldn’t shock me if half the budget went towards things that we will never even see.
At least we know the Knives Out sequels will be good and buzzworthy. If this Rings show launches with a 50 on metacritic then it will be DOA.
