Once DS passes ¥25B I feel like it deserves a different coloring than the “mere” Uber-Blockbuster level :funny:

Too early, but Tuesday perhaps ¥160mn Approx. Perhaps the business is now settling. 4th week looks more likely under ¥3Bn.

@Corpse Is there any local film targeting Christmas-New Year, because if this follow Frozen II in its run from here, Spirited Away may be done but close. However, Frozen II has to face Star Wars in Christmas Week. If Demon Slayer remain sole player, it may be able to gain over Frozen II.

I put the week wise numbers of Frozen II and DS projections. DS now projecting for ¥34Bn range total.

There are bunch of BIG delayed local movies in December. I remember Corpse posted a list of upcoming movies few pages back.

Be wary of projecting Tuesday, or any of the upcoming weekdays, too much in the morning/early afternoon. As a film plays, the latest and earliest showings are the first to be reduced/eliminated over time.

It doesn't look like it'll reach 100,000 at the usual today (first day since opening not doing so, crazily enough since most big films fall under than on day 5...), but versus last Thursday, it's down around 27% just after noon which would put it track for 80-85,000 or so. But do note, its fourth Tuesday is still likely to be bigger than any known non-holiday first Tuesday except for Weathering With You (which was in the summer).

Yeah, there are quite a few notable local films releasing throughout December. I wouldn't really expect them to take away any potential audience, competition rarely has this effect in the market, rather it'll begin to lose more screens/showtimes come mid/late-December. Of course, it'll still be playing on a huge amount in its 8th-12th weeks probably on par with the first few weeks of a typical uber-blockbuster.

And keep in mind about the special giveaways begin this Saturday (Nov. 12th). The first batch has a limited 1.5 million print run to the first 1.5 million moviegoers, so this is going to boost the weekend and maybe Monday a tad, too. And the other weekends with exclusive limited giveaways (Nov. 28th, Dec. 12th, and Dec. 26th) will benefit as well.

wow, this is nice. if all 1.5 million print sold out, then it will surely boost the weekend even more.

and I think the only movie it can properly compare to is Frozen 2 since DS's 4th week and F2 OW are near each other. The other movies were released at different time in year so.....

Looks like it's heading for a little over 100k in usual locations, last correction boosted the number a lot.

For the Taiwanese box office I don't have a specific site but I follow @franspeech on twitter which gives regular figures on the Taiwanese, Japanese and Chinese box office

It managed to get ahead of Weathering With You despite showing down after 5pm? Was there another correction towards the end of the day?

When we talk about the usual locations, Corpse said it is 70% of the admissions, but does that represent 70% every day of the week? Or on weekends this percentage changes?
