Now that past few years the horror/thriller genre has picked up tremendous momentum let's predict the upcoming 2020 movies and see how many come to us a surprises

I am only going to predict WIDE releasing movies for now but we can add a few more based on suggestions. You can add your predictions on monthly basis or all together, this is not a club.

Jan 2020
The Grudge: $15m/$35m Actuals : $11m/TBD
The Turning: $18m/$45m
Gretel and Hansel: $13m/$28m

Feb 2020
Fantasy Island: $18m/$32m
Brahms: The Boy 2: $15m/$40m

Mar 2020
Untitled Blumhouse Horror Project : TBD
A Quiet Place 2: $45m/$130m

Apr 2020
The New Mutants : $25m/$60m

May 2020
Untitled Saw Film: $15m/$35m

Jun 2020
Candyman: $35m/$70m

Jul 2020
The Purge 5: $22m/$65m
Morbius : $45m/$120m

Aug 2020
Spell : $12m/$28m

Sep 2020
The Conjuring 3: $38m/$100m

Chris Rock’s Saw reboot is the big wildcard. Seems like people were done with that franchise but will the novelty of seeing a pair of big stars (SLJ is in it too) get them curious?

They are running these Purge movies into the ground. At least none of them are entirely unwatchable.

Looks like Grudge will halt at $20m might not even get to that depending on the hold next weekend.

Same! Hope it’s as good as it appears it might be. Horrifying concept, from what I could gather.

I’m loving the recent use of the horror genre as an artistic illumination of social oppression.
