Post Bring back George or no?
If George Lucas said he was interested in making another Star Wars trilogy (unlikely I know), would you rather have him direct it or someone else?

George should be in charge of story but not write or direct.

And I don't like the idea of bringing Feige for the new films.

They had no real direction for this new installment which is what killed it. They need to find someone like Lucas who has a vision for SW (not Fiege) and can adapt to smaller changes based on fan feedback.

They definitely need to stop the Skywalker saga and explore other storelines in this universe, not everything has to be universe threatening evil.

No.
I am hoping for a knights of the old republic series of films. I think there is a lot of things they can do with that. Or jump ahead 50 years and show the jedi back in force.

Only if it's Boy George.

Let him consult for story but don't let him anywhere near the director's chair.

Give Rian Johnson his trilogy. Set decades in the future

It's already too little too late IMO, but I wouldn't mind seeing George Lucas involved back in some compacity as long as he isn't the one directing again.

Yes, it would be the best move for the future of Star Wars.

I honestly think only way Star Wars is going to be a major force again is if they bring back George Lucas as a creative overseer (in reality he can just give ideas for the story or whatever) and make a big deal out of it, including having him actively promote/show up to Comic Con/give interviews/etc--the important thing is the perception that this is George Lucas's vision again and not Disney fanfiction.

That or hand it to one of Christopher Nolan, James Cameron, or Steven Spielberg, the only directors with the clout/following to create the necessary hype.

It would have been interesting to see what his first film would have been. From only tidbits it would have been Luke rebuilding the Jedi Order, and then sensing a disturbance in the Force and he brings his Padawan and General Solo, Chewie and rebel army, and then the apprentice falls to the Dark Side and destroys his temple.

Then Palpatine actually kind of works, as its actually the last hidden threat of the empire extinguished for good.

As much as I like the new trilogy (I still liked ROS despite its many problems), it turns out he probably should've overseen the story like he did for the last two films of the original trilogy while leaving the heavy lifting to the screenwriters and director(s).

So, if this unlikely scenario somehow came true and if he has a story to tell, let him, but keep him to outlines, drafts and creative input (on set).
