March predictions
Winner between Captain Marvel, Us, and Dumbo? What else can do well - Wonder Park?

Re: March predictions
Captain Marvel looks fantastic, but I don’t see it doing above the MCU average ala Black Panther. Women don’t support each other as a community like black people do. See the 2016 election. $105M (D won’t let it fall under WW if it’s close) / $300M.
Us is a huge hit too. Will challenge Halloween for second biggest horror opening.
Dumbo is too sad to breakout. Wonder Park is too cheesy. Captive State should have opened next weekend wide. Will be tough for those outside the top two.

I have all three in my draft so I'll go #1 and stay there for a while.

I think Dumbo will open moderately like 40-50m but haveblegs.

Re: March predictions
I see Captain Marvel doing first Hunger Games numbers. Opening in the 150s.
Us is gonna be huge. $200m+
I see Dumbo finishing in the high 100's.

Re: March predictions
Captain Marvel looks basic as hell, Marvel-by-the-numbers. I think this is where the decline starts. I see an OW in the high 50s to mid 60s and a total under $180m.
Dumbo should do well but it doesn't seem to have the same event status as the last few Disney live action remakes.
Us has an intriguing premise and it's great to see Lupita finally given a real star vehicle. I see an OW over $30m.

I see Dumbo finishing in the high 100's. This sounds about right. Captain Marvel - $380-$410m Us - $180-$210m Dumbo - $175-$225m

There is a chance of decline after Avengers 4 though not immediately with Spidey sequel. Maybe next year. Captain Marvel in this market condition won't do bad. There is a need to big tentpole and it fits the bill perfectly.

Re: March predictions
With every MCU film, someone says it is the start of their decline. And each time someone is wrong.

Re: March predictions
It might underwhelm just because people don't care about prequels. Decline though? Hell no. Some no name Marvel character will still make $300M+ within the next two years.

Re: March predictions
Lol Captain Marvel is not going to flop. With how dead the box office has been for the past two months everything has pretty much been lined up for it to succeed and over perform big time. Also, if the early reactions are anything to go by its going to be a HUGE crowdpleaser just like most Marvel films end up being. I would not be surprised if it pulled a mini BP and grossed $400-$500M domestic, but its a bit too early to tell.
Us should be huge too considering the amount of marketing I have been seeing for it since December. Universal, is obviously very confident in it. Wish I could say the same for Dumbo, but I honestly have no idea what to expect from it anymore. It could go either way between going over $200M or sub $150M IMO.
