I thought it might be interesting to look at each studio this year.

1. Avengers: Endgame 650m
2. The Lion King 550m
3. Star Wars Episode 9 550m
4. Frozen 2 450m
5. Toy Story 4 350m
6. Aladdin 250m
7. Captain Marvel 240m
8. Dumbo 225m
9. Artemis Fowl 40m
10. Penguins 20m

Disney could have an unprecedented 8 200m hits this year, after a previous high of 7 in 2016. Avengers and Lion King will battle itvout for number 1 of the year, while Star Wars should hit between 550m and 650m and has a small chance to be as big as them. Frozen 2 probably won’t do too much more than its predecessor, but it’s opening will be huge and who knows how far holiday legs can carry it? Toy Story 4 will do respectable business, but there is less interest in it than Incredibles or Finding Dory. Aladdin has very beloved source material, but all of its footage has been met with negative reception, and it comes out after Detective a Pikachu and Avengers which will steak all its buzz. Captain Marvels trailers have failed to excite, but it should still eek out a gross near Doctor Strange. Dumbo will be one of Disney’s lower grossing remakes, but it’s well received trailers could propel it to north of 200m. Artemis Fowl will bomb hard, and Penguins will gross in the Disneynature sweet spot of 15-30m.

One of the live action films should've came out this Christmas. Think Dumbo or even Aladdin could've killed it as opposed to Poppins.

1. Lion King - 680m+
2. End Game - will probably beat Infinity War as I feel opening will be more
3. Episode 9 - 475m
4. Frozen 2 - 475m (could do more)
5. Toy Story 4 - 325m... could do more but idk
6. Aladdin - 300m (could be another Memorial Day disaster but I think it'll open big to finish around this)
7. Captain Marvel - 275m+
8. Dumbo - 175m

Very crazy year for Disney and I feel that it will definitely be top heavy. I honestly think both Endgame and TLK have a chance at making $2B+ WW, although it has never happened in the history of films. If it was though it would surely be this year.

1. The Lion King - $750M
2. Avengers: Endgame - $670M
3. Star Wars: Episode 9 - $550M
4. Frozen 2 - $480M
5. Toy Story 4 - $450M
6. Captain Marvel - $320M
7. Aladdin - $300M
8. Dumbo - $230M
9. Artemis Fowl - $40M
10. Penguins - $15M

Endgame will get past 700m.

It's a monster year for Disney. Perhaps the greatest studio slate of all time. But also one that has potential for some major underachievement.

Star Wars Ep.9 is almost am also ran based off the predictions here!

Another strong year, I just hope Toy Story 4 beats all their 2019 offerings.

Toy Story 4 won't do Incredibles 2 numbers so that's not happening.

I see a better chance of Frozen 2 doubling Toy Story 4 than getting beat by it. I am going well over 600 for Frozen 2. Shrek 2 is about 650 mil adjusted which seems like a fair goal. Of all these films if I had to pick one to beat one to beat the Force Awakens I'm taking Frozen. What if it opens to a MOG 200 million and then crushes the holiday weekdays. Hell 175 mil opening weekend could be enough to have an insane total

Star Wars feels weirdly an afterthought on that list. They really messed up that brand.

People undestimating Toy Story 4 and overstamating Frozen 2 is kinda surprising, let the meltdowns begin!

There is certainly a lot of focus on gender, sexuality and race (what I assume you're calling "SJW crap") in movies nowadays but how is Captain Marvel part of that? Hasn't the character always been a woman? It looks like any other superhero movie.

If you were talking about Mary, Queen of Scots, which invented an entire gay subplot out of thin air (I love seeing gay people like me in movies but I prefer my historical dramas historically accurate), then I'd understand you.

No. Carol Danvers is the first Ms.Marvel, but the character Captain Marvel was created a decade before. And I'm not talking about what later became Shazam, but about the character after Marvel got the rights to the name. By looking at the cast, it seems that Jude Law plays the original Captain Mar-Vell.

I don't get the SJW complaints. Carol Danvers has been "Ms." or "Captain" Marvel for 42 years.

She's significantly more important to the Marvel Universe than the original Mar-Vell, who has been dead (excluding a few temporary resurrections) for almost four decades.

You don't get that people don't do their research? Come on, lesterg. It doesn't take a genius to know that people just assume "Captain" Marvel must've always been a man and that the character is only a woman now because of the modern pro-LGBTQ climate. People don't even do their research when electing presidents, why the fuck would they do research for an off-the-cuff complaint?

So depressing that a Star Wars movie isn't presumed by me to be #1 this year. Heck, it may even be #3.

Lion King - $740m
Avengers: Endgame - $670m
Ep IX - $660m

Disney will have 9 of the 10 in the Top Ten (lumping Avatar with Disney)

Hope Avengers is good.

Dumbo actually looks pretty good unlike the usual Disney shit (BATB, Lion King, Aladdin, Cinderella etc.)

and oh, I guess that's all there is. Hope the rest tank except Capt Marvel even if it looks generic as hell and Penguins coz people should learn more about the world we live in.

Lol EP IX is not coming remotely close to that. There's no hook like Revenge of the Sith.

If the marketing really connects it could see a slight increase. But I’d agree it’s unlikely

Even with the long wait between sequels fans are pretty much sure that this isn't going to be the last SW movie to come and after EP8 the interest in the series from casual audience have definitely come down. From what I can remember the buzz for EP8 was HUGE at the start of 2017 with the first clip of Luke but this time Disney will over-saturate market competing with its own different departments. I don't think this will generate any buzz before August and Disney is doing well not to release any clips for now.

Regardless I don't think EP9 will see any significant increase from EP8 this time like the past movies have seen in the series.
