Now that's bravery to go against the Twitterverse and SJWs that follow you. Hopefully she succeeds in getting him back in the hosting gig. I think it would be quite perfect ratings wise. This will ad to the watch factor and the boycotters will be a miniscule few. https://www.huffingtonpost.com/entry/ke ... 88b707fff2

Re: Kevin Hart to host the Oscars
His tweets nine years ago were homophobic. His response nine years after was tone-deaf. I am fine with him hosting though (the tweets were 9 years ago).
However, he does not give me the impression that he can crack jokes (if that's a host's duty) that are more than superficial. I would prefer someone like Trevor Noah, Kristen Bell, or Ryan Gosling in his offbeat mode.

Oh stop . Who on earth is Trevor. I’m tired of slapstick hosts. Kristen bell? Please Gosling? He’s great at tanking films. He’d be great at tanking ratings too.
Move on from the lame tweets...

Move on from the lame tweets... Agree. All three of those would be awful choices. Gosling has the personality of a wet blanket.

Move on from the lame tweets... Nothing to do with the tweets. From movies to tv appearances, Kevin Hart comes across as a louder and exaggerated Steve Harvey. I am not a fan of exaggeration and stereotype humor.

But he's not fresh enough for young people. Plus he is everywhere on network tv. The Oscars might not want that associated with its brand.

Re: Kevin Hart to host the Oscars
Yeah, it would not tune in the young'uns and he's not exactly A-list either...well I'd guess Hart would do, but I was never too much of a fan. I like Chris Rock, but he wasn't too great last time either. I think someone like Vince Vaughn could do well.

Vince Vaughn seems like a thing of the past. But I could see the potential of the revival of an once popular comedian.

I'd be fine with camera operator #3 hosting the Oscars. Couldn't really give a shit who hosts. I only care who wins the awards.

Harvey would be a great choice but he's already said he doesn't want to do it. Apparently he doesn't want people digging into his past too much

Re: Kevin Hart to host the Oscars
Is there anyone who will actually want to host now? This fiasco has turned the gig into a potential PR nightmare. Everyone has something 'problematic' that they said at some point, and now there will be extra scrutiny on whoever accepts it.

Seth Macfarlane on the Oscars Quote: “Look, it’s a gig that has all eyes on it,” says MacFarlane. “And when you’re doing something that’s that much in the spotlight, with that much focus on it, that much intensity, you’re going to have a lot of opinions from a lot of people. I’m trying to think of the last time that I read a review of the Oscars the next day where everyone is raving about it—it’s been a long time.”
Hosting can be a no-win scenario, the entertainment equivalent of Star Trek‘s Kobayashi Maru. “The thing about award shows in general is, it’s kind of a dusty format,” MacFarlane says. “It’s a format that’s about as current as the 1950s variety show format. There’s always an effort to make it interesting and exciting to viewers who are used to a very different entertainment landscape in the modern era, and it’s often times fitting a square peg in a round hole. So it’s not an easy job, and I’m not surprised that they have a tough time finding takers.”
https://ew.com/oscars/2018/12/11/seth-m ... st-oscars/He's right, awards shows came to popularity in a completely different place and time. People are interested in the winners but the ceremony itself bores them and a lot of that negativity is directed towards the host.

Who needs the job when all that will happen is they will get mocked by critics and viewers and likely have some old inconsequential comments from long ago dragged up by dungeon dwelling twitter freaks.
Not worth it.

Re: Kevin Hart to host the Oscars
Well apparently hosting the Oscars was one of Hart’s life goals so he thinks it’s worth it. Hopefully he changes his mind and does the job

It does not have to be rigid.

Re: Kevin Hart to host the Oscars
Look at this BS. He apologizes AGAIN. Then said this Quote: Hart, the second highest-paid comedian of 2018, then vowed to never include any offensive material toward the LGBTQ community in any if his comedy acts moving forward. Now he can’t even make any jokes about anything gay related apparently. What’s offensive material to him now? He’s a comedian or he was. Just embarrassing

Re: Kevin Hart to host the Oscars
Sounds like The Oscars will move forward without a host. Great decision, it does not need a host. Someone likable, probably Tom Hanks, will open the show, maybe tell a few jokes and the show will go on as usual. The idea of a host is meaningless. If you aren't going to have a Ricky Gervais roast the pampered, privileged celebs, there's no point. I'm so sick of the pandering.
It really is such an antiquated format, just as much as the late night talk show. It needs major re-tooling, which will never happen because those that work on it only want to continue the traditions they love and grew up with.

I'm working on an article about how Disney's streaming service is perfect opportunity to modernize the Oscars

Re: Kevin Hart to host the Oscars
How is Disney gonna revamp the awards show. I wasn't happy about the changes they were making already.
The Academy Awards needs a host and should have a host. It needs a conductor, emcee, ringmaster whatever you want to call it.
