January predictions
What are some standout performers other than Glass?

Re: January predictions
Don't see anything else doing well. The A Dog's Purpose non-sequel that everyone will think is its sequel should be good for $60 million.

Re: January predictions
It's all about Glass. I don't even think there will be many successful expansions either.

The Upside looks to have a leggy run. Same with A Dog's Journey Way Home .

Re: January predictions
I like Escape Room's chances as well. Good idea for a horror movie, with multi film potential if it hits. The release date hurts it though, it comes out in 5 days. It would have been better owning a quiet weekend

It would have been better owning a quiet weekend I think it's better off distancing itself from Glass. Wouldn't want to open any sooner and January is fairly dead for new movies outside of Glass. I think it's the perfect release date.

Re: January predictions
Escape Room will do well. It is a sweet spot for horror, the Friday right after schools re-open, holiday vacations end, etc. And it has a catchy premise and title.
Conversely, The Kid Who Would Be King is going to be an epic flop. Reminds me of the arguable nadir of Hollywood's search for Harry Potter 2.0 a decade ago, The Seeker: The Dark Is Rising.
