She's definitely winning.

Locks:

Emma Stone
Rachel Weisz
Amy Adams
Regina King

And there's one open spot that is either Claire Foy for First Man, Nicole Kidman for Boy Erased (definitely a better chance - I mean it is Kidman and she's truly wonderful in the film), or Natalie Portman for Vox Lux. Personally I wish Kidman and Natalie could both get in. Maybe kick out Weisz. But that's not happening.

Interesting. I thought Kidman would be nominated for Destroyer this year if she is going to be. Actually I did not realise she was in Boy Erased.

She gives the best performance in the film. She's better than Hedges but she's also the heart of the film. I think Lead Actress is just so hard to break into this year. So I kind of feel she'll be nominated for Boy Erased as a nomination for two great performances. Not to discount her work in the film itself.

Regina King missed a SAG nomination... no way she can win now.

Honestly with it also missing ensemble it could just be a case of them not getting screeners out in time. Marcia Gay Harden won for Pollock and didn't get a SAG nomination or a Globe nomination. I think she's still the only one though. But apparently they hadn't gotten screeners out for that film in time for Globes or SAG.

Eh who really cares about Best Supporting Actress. It's like half the interest level of Best Actress and nobody truly cares about that either, which is why the Academy have had to change the order to force people to see it as important (closer to the end of the show...must be a biggie! Nah).

Here's how I would rank them in terms of personal importance:

1. Picture
2. Director
3. Cinematography
4. Screenplay
5. Actor, Supporting Actor
6. Editing, Score, Adapted Screenplay
7. Costumes, Production Design
8. Animated
9. Actress
10. Sound Editing, Mixing, Makeup
11. Supporting Actress
12. Song
13. Foreign Language

Why? I'm male. It's no different than black people caring more about Bland Panther doing well than other movies. People will always root for their own.

Algren doesn't care about visual effects at all.

I forgot about that one, but also it really isn't a very important category. It is the most superficial, and the smallest factor in any film being good.

Yup, because a song over the end credits makes a movie better.

It matters more to me. A movie's song(s) is not just about playtime in the movie, but about forging that connection to the movie outside of the cinema.

I feel like this category has become a joke because of so many cases of obvious category fraud. Viola stole Michelle Williams' Oscar.

After seeing Beale Street I kinda see why she gor snubbed at SAG. She's not in it much, and tbh her performance didn't really leave me with "oh, yeah, she's winning" but idk

It's a great sign for BlacKkKlansman it did well (including Spike Lee director nomination) considering American driven black films tend to do poorly there

Adams loses to Blunt in A Quiet Place at SAGs. King or De Tavira to win?
