Re: Germany Box-Office Thread
Hard to tell - next weekend will be even worse (beautiful weather and very weak openers) but I suspect AQP will have one of the better holds...

Re: Germany Box-Office Thread
Cool. Would something like Avengers be impacted due to weather?

Re: Germany Box-Office Thread
Every movie is impacted by beautiful weather, but huge blockbusters have an advantage (one of the reasons: pre-sales)

Re: Germany Box-Office Thread
I don’t see Ready Player One in the foreign market section on BOM. But I got released back on April 5th right?

Weekend 17/18
Yes, unfortuneately RP1 was killed by nice weather... AVENGERS 3 has the best opening of the year and the best opening ever by a MCU movie: http://www.insidekino.com/DTop10/18/DTop18APR26.htmIn other news: 50SOG3 officially reached blockbuster status (3m admissions)

Weekend 19/18
http://www.insidekino.com/DTop10/18/DTop18MAI10.htmAVENGERS 3 is now the biggest MCU film ever after just 18 days (beating GOTG2). Btw, all MCU sequels or threequels had more admissions than their predecessors!

Re: Germany Box-Office Thread
That's not good at all.
Star Wars films and their yearly international gross rank:
Phantom Menace #1 Attack of the Clones #4 Revenge of the Sith #2 Force Awakens #2 (#1 without China) Rogue One #7 Last Jedi #4 (ignoring Wolf Warrior 2) Solo ... if it drops 50% from Rogue One like the Germany number suggests, it might not even make the Top 25...

Re: Germany Box-Office Thread
I don't think Solo's OS ratio will increase as much most of SW movies end up having ~50% domestic/OS ratio.

Re: Germany Box-Office Thread
Even though SOLO's numbers are certainly not STAR WARS worthy, but on the brighter side it dropped just 11 % in its second weekend...

Re: Germany Box-Office Thread
Even before the World Cup starts, admissions are down by 16 % for the first 23 weeks compared to 2017 - looks like the worst first six months since 1992...

Re: Germany Box-Office Thread
The first quarter was plagued by German productions underperforming, the second quarter by unusual hot and sunny weather...
And the streaming revolution is also taking a toll...

Germany will be out of the World Cup soon anyway, so things will be back to normal.

It will be interesting to see if some distributors will open their movies now one or two weeks earlier...

Peculiar omission in the title for the German market. Is saying "Asians" not PC in Germany?
