Re: Billboard chart discussion thread
This week: 1. Drake "Nice For What" (flat) 2. Drake "God's Plan" (flat) 3. Bebe Rexha feat. Florida Georgia Line "Meant to Be" (flat) 4. Post Malone feat. Ty Dolla Sign "Psycho" (down) 5. Zedd, Maren Morris and Grey “The Middle” (up) 6. Blocboy JB feat. Drake "Look Alive" (down) 7. Ed Sheeran "Perfect" (flat) 8. Lil Dicky feat. Chris Brown "Freaky Friday" (up) 9. Cardi B, Bad Bunny and J Balvin "I Like It" (down) 10. Nicki Minaj “Chun-Li” (up)
KOD will debut top 5 next week. Ariana will probably come in at 6 or 7 depending on how Psycho and Look Alive hold.

Jeez J. Cole. But nice debut for Ariana. She should've waited a few weeks and she could have finally clinched that number 1. Now she'll probably never ever hit it.

Nah, Nice For What will be #1 all summer. Tears is a solid song though, a bit better than Dangerous Woman.

Is next week's top 10 going to be all Post Malone songs, he is dominating Spotify since his album came out

They need to introduce a rule that only singles are eligible for the Hot 100. Last week and this week are ridiculous with songs just getting in because of people streaming entire albums.

Drake is done. This week: 1. Childish Gambino "This is America" (debut) 2. Drake "Nice For What" (down) 3. Drake "God's Plan" (flat) 4. Post Malone feat. Ty Dolla Sign "Psycho" (down) 5. Bebe Rexha feat. Florida Georgia Line "Meant to Be" (down) 6. Zedd, Maren Morris and Grey “The Middle” (down) 7. Blocboy JB feat. Drake "Look Alive" (up) 8. Camila Cabello “Never Be the Same” (down) 9. Ed Sheeran "Perfect" (up) 10. Ariana Grande "No Tears Left to Cry" (flat)
Imagine Dragons will clench that third Evolve top 10 soon. "In My Blood" has rebounded in sales and could become Shawn Mendes' fourth top 10.

No Tears Left To Cry is nice. Ariana is really talented and apparently took a lead role writing this album

Yawn at that top 4. This week: 1. Childish Gambino "This is America" (flat) 2. Drake "Nice For What" (flat) 3. Drake "God's Plan" (flat) 4. Post Malone feat. Ty Dolla Sign "Psycho" (flat) 5. Bebe Rexha feat. Florida Georgia Line "Meant to Be" (flat) 6. Zedd, Maren Morris and Grey “The Middle” (flat) 7. Ariana Grande "No Tears Left to Cry" (up) 8. Blocboy JB feat. Drake "Look Alive" (down) 9. Camila Cabello “Never Be the Same” (down) 10. Ed Sheeran "Perfect" (down)
Nice For What will retake number 1 next week and probably for all eternity.

Re: Billboard chart discussion thread
Ye has 7 of the top 8 songs on apple right now. Too bad he doesn’t do music videos or radio anymore, All Mine could have been a good #1 to break up the Drakefest.

Only 2 pop songs in the top 10! Has pop music ever been more dead?

Why would it? It’s not doing particularly well in sales or streaming. It’s probably gonna debut in the top 50, maybe.

Re: Billboard chart discussion thread
It’s #2 on apple behind only XXXtentaction. And it really just sounds like something that will be #1 for a few weeks. Like Drake, it should get massive support from both pop and hip-hop fans.

That’s weird since it’s really great. I think Apeshit will rise up eventually. Boss is also a future hit.

Re: Billboard chart discussion thread
Wasn't the Carters' album hurt by inaccessibility to a degree? It started as a Tidal exclusive. Then it came to the other streaming services, but only for paying customers. None of the songs are featured on Spotify's "THIS IS JAY-Z" or "THIS IS BEYONCE" playlists.
Although it is perhaps interesting to consider a dynamic where gargantuan media attention for the couple's endeavors (the feverish coverage of surprise releases, etc., etc.) slightly outpaces John Q. Public's interest in listening to their new product.
