Re: 2018 Oscar Chat
So Shape of Water has already lost 4 of its potential 13 wins. Looks to be setting up a big win down the road. BD perhaps.

Re: 2018 Oscar Chat
I have a feeling they’re gonna do Best Actor before Supporting Actress.

Re: 2018 Oscar Chat
The only thing that matters is that Best Picture is last. The rest don't really matter. As a true test of if anyone cares about Best Supporting Actress, I'd do it after Best Picture. See those viewing figures drop like a rock!

Is that Guillermo's (not Kimmel) girlfriend?

Re: 2018 Oscar Chat
Three Billboards is definitely winning best screenplay. It just feels right. Rockwell then screenplay.

Re: 2018 Oscar Chat
Instead of having a performance of Remember Me they should just show that scene at the end of Miguel singing to Coco. It'd save time and be more impactful.

By the way, how was Kimmel's monologue? I look forward to seeing it later on YouTube.

Good, nothing too memorable though.
Still waiting to see how the jet ski and now Lake Havasu bit will pay off.

Re: 2018 Oscar Chat
I hear he cover equal pay and MeToo, plus a joke about Paw Patrol. All this from a Variety FB post. Sounds interesting. But I guess it ain't going to be anything like a Gervais monologue.

Re: 2018 Oscar Chat
I've not even heard of any of the foreign language films this year. I feel none of them got any traction anywhere. Probably because everyone was so preoccupied with MeToo and other SJW stuff.

Re: 2018 Oscar Chat
Metcalf looks like she's about to have a meltdown. Can't say I blame her, but outside of Oldman, this is the most obvious win of the night.

Ah well. Just glad they didn't give it to Blige or Spencer.

Re: 2018 Oscar Chat
Hans Zimmer has never bought anything from Wal-Mart let alone seen a Wal-Mart in person.

Wow, I don't know what that was, but the sooner Tran, Hamill, Issac, and BB-8 leave the stage, the better.

Re: 2018 Oscar Chat
Huge win for people accused of sexual assault. Goes to show that if you work hard, people will forget about it in about ten years!

Re: 2018 Oscar Chat
Congrats Oscars! In the year of me too, you've awarded a probable rapist.
Also, the repeated looks Nolan gave Kobe were priceless.

Re: 2018 Oscar Chat
As of right now, Kobe Bryant has won more Oscars than Gary Oldman, and in about an hour, the best Oldman can do is just tie.

I had hoped of an upset.
