Re: Oct 13-15 Predictions
Yeah, it's October too, which is the month of horror, supposedly. It could do well, but feels a bit forgotten in terms of marketing, kind of like one of those horror anthology films.

Re: October 13-15 Predictions
It should still be good for $20m or so. It's Friday will be very strong.

Re: October 13-15 Predictions
Death Day will make $9.5m Friday but less than $20m for the weekend. It looks great so I hope reviews are atleast decent.

Re: October 13-15 Predictions
Not feeling HDD. Under $20m for sure. This Groundhog Day concept has been worn out.

Re: October 13-15 Predictions
I think Happy Death Day looks like shit, but there is no denying it will do well, especially with the Friday The 13th gimmick to boost it. If the fucking Bye Bye Man can do $13M with the same gimmick behind it than I don't see why HDD can't hit $20M or more, especially with a much stronger marketing campaign and opening in the month of October.
Unfortunately, for The Foreigner and Marshall going by Blade Runner's underperformance it looks their are just too many adult films out right now, so I definitely don't see either going higher than mid single digits.
Happy Death Day - 22 The Foreigner - 7 Marshall - 3
Blade Runner- -60%

Happy Death Day - 24 The Foreigner - 12 Marshall - 4
Happy Death Day reminds me of Texas Chainsaw 3-D. The Foreigner reminds me of The November Man. Marshall reminds me of Race, albeit with a much smaller theatre count.

Re: October 13-15 Predictions
Happy Death Day - $22m The Foreigner - $9m Marshall - $2.3m Professor Marston & the Wonder Women - $1m
Horror is hot this year. Genre films are easier to sell. Friday the 13th helps. Happy Death Day has a good chance making over $20m OW.

I'm generally not a horror genre fan, but I can't wait to see Happy Death Day.

Re: October 13-15 Predictions
Only The Brave is doing sneak previews on Saturday. Can't remember the last time that happened.

Re: October 13-15 Predictions
That's cool. Sneak previews are very common in a lot of OS markets (specially Asian markets from my understanding).

Re: October 13-15 Predictions
Yes, very common in Hong Kong, and in select cinemas in China too.

Re: October 13-15 Predictions
I'm predicting a slightly better hold for Flatliners than originally predicted since that's what Only The Brave is sneaking with. Going with a 45% drop.

Re: October 13-15 Predictions
Don't see the sneaks adding much to the Flatliners gross. I actually don't expect the sneaks to do all that well though I think the film will easily open in the low to mid double digits.
As an aside, BOM puts way too much stock in IMDB page view data for their forecasts.

Re: October 13-15 Predictions
I don't expect a lot or know how much sneaks usually do, but I'd think maybe about $200,000 could happen. Maybe that's too much. I don't know.

Re: October 13-15 Predictions
Not creating a thread for this, but Fandango just acquired MT. Huge deal for them and could be the end of the posted sales percentages. Fandango likes to release information in their own timely fashion.
