Mr. X, you're forgetting that Roman Reigns has to defeat Lesnar for the title at Mania next year. Nothing else is acceptable!!!!!!!!

For real, I was hoping the Brock v Braun would be at extreme rules on June 1. Every other month is not ideal, but it would have been better than Only Big Shows (welllllll).

Post Re: Wrestling (WWE, TNA, ROH)
Payback was messy this year, possibly due to the sudden draft taking place before it, so I'm going to overlook it's mishaps... I just really didn't enjoy much of it...

Jericho beating Owens was a nice surprise, considering he's going on tour soon, but it was even more obvious that Owens would get the title back tonight on SmackDown.

Bayley's entire title run was poorly booked, and her losing the title already (I think it's the NINTH title change in 13 months for the Raw Women's Title...), I suppose, is fitting. Creative got very weird with the Raw Women's Division in Jan.-Apr., so hopefully they get their act together this summer post the shake-up.

And was Sheamus stiff with Matt and Jeff on purpose, or was he just having an off night? Some are speculating this could lead to the broken Hardyz making an appearance, but I believe it's pure speculation only at this point.

Bray and Orton, which should have been a great feud, ended up being one of the most disappointing in a LONG time. I don't know why, but the two just couldn't put on a good match and the continuous, overlong, promos the two traded got tied fast. And then they end in a crappy House of Horrors match, which kinda insulted fans' intelligence, honestly. Blahh... glad this one's over with.

Braun beating Roman clean was the right decision; he's quite possibly the most over star on either roster right now, so him losing here would have killed that momentum. However, Roman... I guess creative doesn't know what to do with him now, so I don't think we'll be seeing him until near SummerSlam as they figure out where to go from here with his character.

Can we talk a little bit about Asuka down in NXT?

She is what Brock Lesnar should have been, not only has she btoken Goldberg's undefeated streak but the way she came down and destroyed Rubby, Nikki and Ember and DANCED like they meant nothing for her was amazing.

If she comes up undefeated (she should) and just forfeits the championship claiming it's no longer enough for her and you have a mf STAR

The NXT womens division is dying for a tournament so I hope Asuka relinquishes the title soon. Ember Moon is alright but she definitely hasn't earned the honor of beating Asuka.

*edit there is a women's tournament this summer actually. Id bet anything the NXT title will be the prize.

Yeah, she is hurting the women's division down there based on the fact no one is literally ready (or deserving) to beat her.

And yes, I kinda hope she retains at Takeover: Brooklin III and just leaves the title right here so the final of the women's tournament is for the mxt women's championship lol

It has to be at least a little humiliating that you're only a prop champion to serve WWE's greater interests.

Post Re: Wrestling (WWE, TNA, ROH)
I've been behind forever but I just got to Wrestlemania so here is my review

Neville vs Austin Aries (Cruiserweight title) - It was a very good match but I watch every 205 and this was one of my most anticipated of the night so it didn't quite tear the house down for me, I assume their feud will continue though. Heel Neville is just awesome.

Andre the Giant Battle Royal - I've never been in love with this match but Mojo is fun I guess, decent celeb cameo spot

Dean Ambrose vs Baron Corbin (Intercontinental Title) - Solid match considering I didn't have any anticipation for this one. Dean needs a heel turn the most of anyone on the roster to me. The problem is Smackdown has so many heels in AJ, Miz, Wyatt, Corbin and then there's Ambrose, and Orton is obviously a better heel too, and the sad state of Ziggler

AJ vs Shane - I loved this match. Making this a regular match instead of a no DQ or whatever was a great decision, I liked the storyline of Shane technically wrestling him and that submission exchange, but then they found a way to get the spots in too. Styles ego was a great fit for this match. What looked like a terrible choice for Styles Wrestlemania match on paper when it was rumored, ended up pretty damn good in both the buildup and match.

Owens vs Jericho (United States title) - Excellent match considering it came right after a showstealer in AJ/Shane, and they still managed to put on a good enough show to get another this is awesome reaction. There were times when I thought Jericho might win despite it being obvious he wasn't going to. Great start to the main card between this and AJ/Shane

Charlotte vs Sasha vs Bayley vs Nia (Raw women's title) - I liked this more than I expected, the storyline up until Nia's elimination was perfect and Charlotte's facial expressions doing things like "you guys fight" was great. After that it was pretty standard, I don't love that they made Bayley champion so fast and it reeks of merchandise driven. If you're going to make all this effort to do the women's revolution based on athletic skill and prowess, making the champion someone who doesn't seem the physical force Charlotte and Sasha are feels like it's throwing it away, although they couldn't just do Charlotte/Sasha forever. I also think WM would've been a nice spot to make Sasha win the title and go heel and turn on Bayley, and confirming what Charlotte said about her manipulating Bayley. I'm guessing by the fall Sasha is the heel champion of Smackdown.

Gallows and Anderson vs Sheamus and Cesaro vs Enzo and Cass vs The Hardy Boyz (Raw tag Titles) - Since I was avoiding spoilers so long I had no idea the Hardys were returning, what a great moment and a fun action packed match. I don't like face New Day so I'm glad they became the New Buried Day for a few months. Overall I think the Raw tag division is really good compared to Smackdown and they need to spread the wealth by next draft.

John Cena and Nikki Bella vs The Miz and Maryse - The match wasn't good, but this was always going to be a feud about the promos beforehand (Which were awesome) and Cena proposing afterwards which was nice, though it was one of the few things I had spoiled.

Triple H vs Seth Rollins - One of my more anticipated matches and I was disappointed it didn't blow me away, HHH's last two Wrestlemanias haven't been the best in the ring. It was still enjoyable though and the ending was fun.

Randy Orton vs Bray Wyatt (WWE title) - I enjoyed the bug spots, but I knew this match was going to be average in the ring based on their last one, I just can't get excited for Bray matches really. It was overall a good long term storyline though. I don't know where Bray goes from here, his title reign just looks like a placeholder now. I wonder if they could almost do a double turn if this feud continues and make Orton go way too far and evil on him

Goldberg vs Brock Lesnar (Universal Title) - I kind of loved what they did here with the spears, jackhammers and F5s and that's about it. It just made sense that with this two behemoths the match would be short one way or the other.

Alexa Bliss vs Becky Lynch vs Natalya vs Carmella vs Mickie James vs Naomi (Smackdown women's title) - For a bathroom break match it was fast paced enough, Naomi winning was so predictable though, and I wish she didn't come back on Smackdown first or else it would've been cooler for her to show up in the match when nobody expected it.

Roman Reigns vs The Undertaker - The Undertaker looked like shit, he could barely move, botched that Last Ride, etc. But I enjoyed the drama of the match all the same and Reigns expressions worked well, and Taker looking like that worked for the storyline I guess. Nice to hear JR and he made it feel more important for Reigns. I don't think it was the best match but I'm pretty happy with it compared to last year's Wrestlemania, and his retirement walk as the last image.

Overall great Wrestlemania, I liked it as much in its own way as 31, I've only seen the last 3 since coming back. 32 I was out of it mentally when it comes to enjoying sports or TV so it wasn't close.

The short term payoff of Goldberg squashing Lesnar feels so damaging right now. They have to basically ignore that happened twice in order for Brock and Joe to feel legit. Why would Joe fear a man that was conquered twice by a 50-year-old man with a two-move skill set?

I just got to the Raw with Braun's beatdown of Reigns, god damn that was beautiful. When you thought it was over and he came back and threw the stretcher, I lost my shit. Thank you Strowman.

I'm overall happy with the superstar shake-up, I was worried they were going to neuter SD Live but they went the other way and made it even better compared to Raw. I like that Charlotte gets her own show where she can be the Queen again instead of Bayley getting pushed for merchandise reasons, KO is one of the best in the business, SD has always been better for Zayn, etc., I hope Rusev makes a good comeback. I'm kind of shocked they didn't put Gallows and Anderson on SD, I thought making them B show champions was the ideal role to try and fix their underwhelming run so far. Meanwhile Raw gets a lot of talent I find better as talkers than wrestlers in Miz, Alexa, Bray, Dean. Although Finn, Samoa Joe and Revival can help the work rate a bit

What a complete waste of an opportunity. The first Women's MITB should have been an actual historic moment in WWE, and we got a man winning it...

This will probably go down as one of WWE's biggest blunders ever.

Vince: Okay, go rescue our show now New Day!

I'm a bit confused as to why they're splitting up Enzo and Cass. I know the flame has dimmed considerably, but they didn't even get a tag team title run. And Cass doesn't have the charisma to branch out on his own, he needs a mouthpiece. Enzo will bounce around in the midcard with nothing to do. Just doesn't seem logical. At least keep them together and turn them both heel.

Enzo sold the shit out of it with the tear in his eye though.

Three shows, three female main events.

Hell yeah. Asuka and Nikki slayed everyone else this week, the little details in their match is imo the best women's match of the year by far. And now can they keep Asuka undefeated in the main roster? Ember is so not teady to dethrone her

Carmella is improving greatly week-to-week. I kind of want them to drop James Ellsworth. He should be with someone that needs a mouthpiece that creates heat. I think she creates heat on her own, which is a fucking rarity in 2017 wrestling.

Great Balls of Fire - best PPV of the year so far, in my opinion.

I'm pleasantly surprised they delivered a 3 hour+ event with such quality; it's been awhile.

I actually watched, which never happens. I had to see Brock vs. Joe. I'm a bit disappointed they didn't pull the trigger on a Joe victory, but I know they have way too much invested in Brock to have him drop the title now. However, I think it will be increasingly problematic to have an absentee champion. They pulled it off in the non-brand split era, but with entire PPVs devoted to RAW, it's hard not to have a championship match and feud.
