I wouldn't bet on that but I think it will be close to IM3's opening than say AoU or A1. If Civil War is HUGE, then it can challenge OW record as well.

These won't any longer be called "Infinity War Part One" and "Infinity War Part Two", so that changes their box office prospects quite a bit.

No idea what to make of these. AOU had everything going for it and only hit $190m. CW likely to beat its OW makes no sense.

Re: The Avengers: Infinity War predictions
I mean, that's why they didn't kill anyone off, because they are crafting Infinity War and they need every member to make it "perfect". So this film may be good or epic, but it came at a cost of all the previous movies being safe. If all the Avengers make it out of Infinity War alive, I will be unhappy. There is honestly no reason why Black Widow or Hawkeye or even Spider-Man should not die - or perhaps kill off Stark. Someone needs to perish.

Re: The Avengers: Infinity War predictions
They'll kill off one of the core Avengers. I'd say it's almost a certainty. But it won't be Spider-man.
I'm not really a fan of the Whedon Avengers films but Civil War was good and served the purpose of dividing the team just as Thanos launches his assault. With the Russos directing again I think it's in good hands.

Re: The Avengers: Infinity War predictions
I agree that Civil War is a good film and the best of the team-up films, unlike Age of Ultron and The Avengers which were lame. Who do you think they will kill off? I mean, in terms of box office, it should be Hulk (also because by appearance it looks as if the team might call upon Hulk to do most of the battling with Thanos), but I would love it to be Stark (Downey needs a way out).

Re: The Avengers: Infinity War predictions
Yeah probably Stark. Would be a huge casualty and Downey wants out. It could also be Captain America. Not sure if it will be in Infinity War or the film after as we don't know what that one will be the culmination of the MCU as it has existed since 2008.

Jokes, fights, inner-conflict, one big fight, threat is removed within a day, and everything returns to how it was at the beginning. Nothing ever moves forward in these films. Pretty much all of this is 100% dead on. I truly LOLd during CIVIL WAR when Stark says he & Pepper Potts are on a break. It is just like "oh yeah, all the drama and time spent through 3 IRON MAN films, 1 Avengers movie, and especially given the ending of IRON MAN 3...means nothing because we will negate all of that with a single, carefree sentence". There is nothing mentally or emotionally engaging in these films that is why they have been declining in gross over the past several years. ULTRON had everything it could possibly have going for it, and it barely topped $190m. CIVIL WAR was much better received, but again saw a decline in opening and had terrible legs. As for killing Stark, cannot imagine that to happen. Downey's Stark is by far the biggest draw, and the pillar for which the series has been based around. IRON MAN was their first real movie. We'll see what happens, but with each passing film, it feels as though Marvel is getting closer and closer to overstaying their welcome.

Re: The Avengers: Infinity War predictions
So will this be over or under Ultron? And will Avengers 4 out gross infinity war?
I'd say that Infinity War makes more than Ultron, but Avengers 4 makes between the two.

Re: The Avengers: Infinity War predictions
If Avengers 3 is indeed just a middle-act then I see it doing just above Ultron depending on how good the film is. Also Avengers 4 is surely doing more than 2 and 3 though I am yet not sure where it will land in terms of part 1.

Re: The Avengers: Infinity War predictions
It's hard to say without seeing a trailer, but I see Infinity War being the highest grossing of the two unless they pull out all the stops market Avengers 4 as some kind of once in a life time EVENT. I have a feeling the Guardians involvement will be heavily hyped in IW though which will probably make it feel somewhat played out by the time Avengers 4 comes out. I definitely see IW out grossing Ultron, especially if it's really good, but I wouldn't be surprised if A4 grossed less.

Re: The Avengers: Infinity War predictions
Infinity War will be bigger than Ultron because it should be a culmination of everything that has led up to that moment. It also has the GoTG boost + possibly the demise of a major character.
The 4th film has the "final" film bonus so it should end up with a similar gross to IW.
