David wrote: I need to listen to the Whitney album. I did, and it is wonderful. Reminds me a lot of the Byrds and After the Gold Rush/Harvest-period Neil Young. They conjure a certain country-influenced, melancholy, nostalgic, lightly psychedelic California sound near perfectly.

Re: Top ten albums of 2016
I also listened to another great album on my flight over and back. The title or the name of the group had "Disco" in it, and it was in the "new releases" section, so it was a 2016 album. I want to think it was "....at the Disco" or something like that. I've had a browse of Amazon for similar titles but found nothing. The cover has flashes of red, purple and was darkish. If any knows...

I thought it was them when I did my initial search, but it isn't.

Re: Top ten albums of 2016
The only other group with disco in the title I know is Simian Mobile Disco. And I only know them by the song Audacity of Huge. The cover of their 2016 album doesn't look like something red, purple or darkish, but some of their older covers might fit the bill. David wrote: David wrote: I need to listen to the Whitney album. How do y'all listen to all these albums? Is it still possible to torrent albums? I guess I just stopped downloading music a couple years ago when I got a new computer / the website I used got shut down (kickass.to)

Re: Top ten albums of 2016
Kickass is still around. It is something like unblocked.kickass.to or whatever. But yeah, basically I don't listen to albums much but I can download if I wish to.

Re: Top ten albums of 2016
I use torrents/Spotify to check new music out. If I really like it then I buy the album to support the artists.

So much more conveinant.

Re: Top ten albums of 2016
I don't really listen to more than a handful of new albums a year but would put either The Tragically Hip - Man Machine Poem and Radiohead - A Moon Shaped Pool first, followed by Macklemore - This Unruly Mess I've Made and J Cole - 4 Your Eyez Only
